Cased Fall scene

Sorry I havent posted in a couple of days. Pre-op turned out to be a long process. Alana has a complicated medical history so we have to take a few different routes than normal for her surgery on Tuesday. They want to keep her overnight too to observe her after the surgery. Please keep her in your prayers.
Today is my favorite challenge of the week as most of you who visit regulary know. Todays featured stamper is NikiE she has a wonderful gallery full of fanastic colored images! I cased Niki's halloween card here. I changed the card from a halloween card to a fall card but I kept her layout and basic design. I loved her bat stamped background panel so I used the leaves cluster to make my background. All images used on my card are from Treehouse stamps Happy Fall yall. I stamped the scarecrow image onto watercolor paper using stazon black. I colored the him w/SU markers using Julies no copics no problem technique. I usually dont try to make "scenes" b/c its just not my thang! KWIM!??! I usually end up with a disaster!LOL! I sponged the sky and ground then I stamped the solid leaf image on the ground. The pumpkin image is was cut out and popped up. The inside of the card is stamped with the larger leaf image in old olive and pumpkin pie. I stamped the sentiment "happy fall yall" in close to cocoa. I added two dew drops to the image. Hope you're having a great Labor Day weekend!

You are getting sleepy

LOL! I love this frog!! Hes so cute and funny! I got this image from the PIF thread from Leigh Ann. I colored him using the gamsol magic technique and outlined him with cool gray no. 1 copic marker. I paired him with the seeing spots background stamped tone on tone on the green galore panel and embossed with kaledioscope ep on the basic gray layer. I thought the spots background would be cute paired with this frog! I popped the sentiment up on dimensionals. Black brads and black gingham ribbon were added for embellishments.

Really simple card for todays ways to use it challenge sharpen it up. I love using colored pencils so this was an easy challenge for me so I have two for you today. For my second card I used last weeks sketch challenge. The elephant image is coming Sept 1 from H & M stamps and hes so adorable! I used crate dp from the Taylor collection. I added faux stitching to the soft sky layer and used the color spritzer tool on the image.
Headed to hospital for Alanas pre-op. Have a great day!

Fairy Dusting

Amy (rohla) created this beautiful card yesterday and I loved the colors! So I decided to combine them with todays sketch challenge and another sneak peek from H & M.
Todays sneak peek is a set called Fairy tales. I was so excited when I got this set in the mail! Madison and Alana love tinkerbell so I cant wait to put together some fairy invites with this set!
I stamped the mushrooms inked in river rock and added stickles to all the spots. The butterfly is stamped in baja breeze with stickles added to the trail. I stamped the fairy wings on vellum in pink pirouette and cut out and added stickles to the spots on the wings. The fairy is stamped on vanilla in pink pirouette. I cut the fairy out and popped her up on the vellum wings. I wanted the wings to be off the image some. I sponged the edges with river rock. The main image is popped up on dimensionals. I stamped one of the sentiments from the stamp "just a little dusting" and added 3 stickle dots under the sentiment. To soften the river rock prints I added vellum over it and secured with gold brads.
Hope you enjoy my card and have a great day!

Meet school fun percy

Sorry this post is so late but I was not inspired by the colors this morning until I got an email from Heather owner of H & M stamps give us the go ahead on posting sneak peeks! Meet school fun percy! Isnt he just adorable?!?! Love him! I think this will make fun teacher notes which I will be making for all my kids teachers. I left the desk blank for the teacher to write the childs name there! How cute is that?!?! For my layout I started with Julees mojo50 sketch but I changed the image to a rectangle instead of a circle. On my rose red panel I stamped 2 image stamps included with school fun percy to make my "dp". I used Quickutz ribbon slider cut out in kraft and stamped the number image on the slider also. Does my excitement just come off the screen at you!?!?LOL! Be back later with more deets...gotta run to cheerleading and football practice!
ETA: In my haste to post before practice I forgot to mention Percy will be available at H & M stamps on Sept 1!

Fabulous Fall flower

Im so glad its Monday! How many times have you heard that??! Kids are back in school, Fay is outta here, and I have a stamp class tonight! The class was supposed to be on Friday but we had to cancel due to the weather.
I have a triple challenge card for you this morning. I used the color challenge from OCC. Beate is back with her sketch challenge so of course I had to do it and todays technique challenge is dry embossing with craft white ink. For my main image I stamped the flower 2x in pumpkin pie and 2x in rose red. I cut out and layered the flower alternating colors. I added a jumbo eyelet and rhinestone brad to the top layer of the flower. I have a really hard time with this flower for some reason. ESPECIALLY when it comes to cutting it out!
I have some pics to share later today of Madison on her 6th bday! Have a great day!

Always Groovy Chocolate

TS Fay is in our presence right now! Our tin has already blown off our barn and our greenhouse doors have already blown off. We've lost power 3 times but thankfully it comes right back on! I scheduled this post b/c Im not sure if we will have power in the morning or not.

I made this card for Heathers sketch and color challenge for this week. I pulled out my fave set to use with these colors! Always! I dont know why but I just love this set in these colors. Im not exactly thrilled with how my card turned out mainly b/c I hate the Fiskars ovals! I started to change the image to a square but I figured Id actually try to follow the sketch this week!LOL!

Recipe:
Stamps: always
Ink: grooy guava, chocolate chip, blush blossom
Paper: very vanilla, groovy guava, choc chip, blush blossom
Other: K & Co adhesive pearls, guava ds ribbon, fiskars ovals, sponges,

Oldie Olive Apples

Todays challenge is oldies but goodies to use things you havent used in a long time. Well this is an easy challenge for me b/c in stamping I get on kicks where I use things like stamps, embellishments, etc then I just stop when I get on another kick!LOL!
For my oldies today I used basket full of fun a set I just had to have! Ive inked up once and it was over a year ago! I also used my watercolor crayons that I never use anymore. When I was looking at the basket full of fun set and saw the apples I remebered the tart and tangy dp and my card was born! I used Jens sfytt for my layout since I didnt get a chance to play on Saturday.
Not a lot of chit chat today. I have to get ready for a class tonight. Hope you have a great weekend!
Recipe:
Stamps: basket full of fun
Paper: textured so saffron, kraft, old olive, tart and tangy dp
Ink: stazon
Other: wwc crayons in old olive, always artichoke, going gray, charcoal gray, so saffron, and really rust (to make the bucket look rusted), buttons from Walmart, hemp, white gel pen, cutter kit for distressing.

Sc190 Whoot Whoot

I had a happy accident today! I love when that happens!LOL! I was making a card for todays sketch challenge. I already knew what dp, set, and colors I wanted to use. I just got in this CHF u r a hoot set and I just had to ink it up! Hes soooo cute!!!The dp is We R memory keepers urban window collection. I think its called diner drive thru. Love it! Okay so I wanted to make a 5 1/4" sq card for today b/c Im out of 4 1/4" envelopes and I dont like making them but I have plenty of large sq envelopes. Well when I went to assemble my card it was waayyy to big! I had already layered the choc chip piece onto the dp so I couldnt take it off so I just cut 1" off the top and right side. I love the way it looks! I probably wouldnt be able to get it just right again if I tried!LOL! Can you tell math wasnt exactly my fave subject in school!

I colored the image using gamsol magic technique and outlined with copic cool gray no.1. I cut the image out using Fiskars circles and punched the scallop out in riding hood red. I used my baja breeze reinker and fantastix to color the bridal flower. I attached the bridal flower to the tree using SU rhinestone brads. To finish off my card I added 2 larger rhinestone brads to the top left side.
You will be seeing this color combo and dp again b/c I love it!! And....did you notice my watermark. Yep trying that again its an older one but Im trying it out again before I get a newer one. Have a great day!

Blush Cocoa Riley

Sorry for the angle but I wanted to show you I decorated the inside of my card!! Yayyy!LOL! Todays color challenge is ruby red, blush blossom, and close to cocoa. Perfect colors for the Riley image Stephanie just sent me! Thanks! Im a PIF addict now!LOL! For those of you saying huh?!? PIF stands for pay it forward. Basically you make a list of images you have when you see something on the current list posted and you "snag" the image then you post your list for someone to snag off you! You can find the current pif thread here where they have just started round 53. Thanks so much Denise for hooking me up!LOL!

Okay card deets now..Riley is colored with gamsol magic technique. I added used my sakura gelly roll pen on the pan and under the cupcakes. I also added stardust stickles to the frosting. Riley was cut and embossed using square nesties. Oh and I also spritzed the image with all 3 colors! The layout is CPS #78. The ribbon looks much darker in the pic than it is IRL.

Im on cloud 9 today!! H & M will be releasing 40 yes 40 stamps/sets in Septemeber and I got major happy mail today! Yall are gonna LOVE these!! Ashley from Treehouse also emailed me this morning and asked me and Mama to stay on as guest designers for the month of September. GREAT DAY!LOL!!!

Other: cranberry ribbon from Joanns, sakura gelly roll pen, stardust stickles, scallop border, silver brads

Dino Day Treat

Todays challenge is to make an acetate treat box. I love 3-d items like this but I have the hardest time with them! This was my first time making an acetate box. The hardest part was scoring the acetate!

I didnt want to put candy in my box so I went through my treat drawer and found some dinos. I always keep some of these on hand. They come in a bag of 50 dinos for $1 at Dollar Tree! They also have frogs, lizards, etc. I made this card here for Braydens first day of school but I forgot to give it to him! Bad Mama!LOL! So I made a box to go with it. I love this dino day set from H & M because its a bold stamp set and its perfect for those quick cards you need for kids!

Short post today. Alana has an appt today to see if she needs her tonsils and adnoids taken out. Have a great day!

Petal Friendship Case

Todays featured stamper is Jessie aka knightrone. Jessie is a super stamper with a fabulous gallery. Featured stamper challenge is one of my faves. I like browsing through their gallery and seeing a card that will make me get out an image/set that I havent used in awhile or not at all. While looking through Jessies gallery I came across her petal friendship card. I had to case it! Pick a petal was one of the sets I ordered out of the preview from last years catalog. I think Ive actually used it twice. I inked up the polka dot petal in brilliant blue. I stamped the petal onto whisper white stamping with the corner of the petal off the cs. I stamped the doodled image in stazon over the polka dot petals. I stamped the flower center in black stazon then the doodled center in craft white. I added stardust stickles to the polka dots. The flower image is matted on black. I stamped the polka dot background on brilliant blue in craft white. For my sentiment I pulled out PTI's faux ribbon. My fave set for small sentiments. I stamped the wishing you well on ww. I added the silver HH and MM rhinestone brads. I went digging through my ribbon stash and found this blue polka dot ribbon from Joanns. After I assembled the card I added the black dots to the ww panel under the ribbon, under the sentiment, and the corner. There was just way too much white going on for me!LOL!

Well Im family reunioned out today! We went to my family reunion yesterday and Dannys today. They are always on the same weekend so its usually a busy weekend for us. Now its race time!

Todays challenge from Jeanne S was to make a card using a snowman. Well Im in no way ready for Christmas so I had to dig out my Christmas stamps!LOL! I decided to use this image from MFT Baby its cold outside. I really struggled with this card this morning. 2 1/2 hours struggled!LOL! I just cant get in the mind frame to be holly and jolly in August!LOL! I have a few things I HAVE to get done today before the kids get home so Im just going to post the recipe here! Sorry!

Pumpkin Head

Todays challenge is to use copics or dye based markers using a faux copic method. Well I used both on my card.

As soon as I saw this cute pumpkin image & sentiment from Treehouse (available now here) I knew what I wanted to do! My Dad is the type of person that loves to pick and aggravate people. He lives for it! So he was picking on Madison one day and called her onion head. Boy did she get mad and she was giving it back to him calling him every food she could think of picklehead, tomatohead, etc! She loves to go back and forth with her Pepa. It tickles me because it reminds me of me and my Dad when I was Madisons age. She's just like me b/c she will keep it going b/c she HAS to have the last word even if its yelling out the window as we're going out of the driveway!LOL! Seriously she does this all the time! So as soon as I saw this pumpkin head sentiment I just had to make a card for my Dad from Madison! He will love it!

I stamped the pumpkin image on PTI using Stazon black. I colored the pumkin first with apricot appeal SU marker and blended with an aquapainter filled with alcohol instead of water. I went over parts of the pumpkin with the pumpkin pie SU marker and blended again. I colored the stem with gable green and green galore. I covered the pumpkin with crystal effects and it smoothed out the lines even more. I used copic cool gray No. 1 under the image to add shadow. I added eucalyptus stickles to the stem and its the first time Ive used any stickles other than crystal, diamond, or stardust I always thought it wouldnt make a difference if the image was colored. Well...it does! I love this eucalyptus stickles! Thanks Shannon! I love this dp from MM and I stamped flannel plaid on the green galore strips to match the dp. I distressed all edges. I colored the bella baubles with my pumpkin pie marker. Have a great day!

Cool cat RAK

Look at this cute and fun card I got from Michelle aka MishB. I sent her a card along with the images I sent her so she sent me this card. Isnt it so cute?!?! Love the cool cat!LOL! Thanks Michelle! Sorry Im late posting it! I lifted it out of your gallery since its storming here and I cant take a pic. Check out Michelles gallery here

Stamps Happen Fairy

Todays sketch gave me a chance to color this fun image. I pm'd Michelle (Mish B) about a month ago b/c she used the cutest fairy from Stamps happen. We ended up doing an image swap and this is one of the fairies I got. I love these Stamps happen fairies! Very fun to color!
I colored the image using gamsol magic technique then outlined with the copic cool gray No.1 marker. I used one of my old fave color combos pale plum and perfect plum. I kept the embelishments very limited so I just 2 brads and some faux stitching.
Sorry Ive been MIA for a couple of days but I had some major rearranging to do! Im outgrowing my stamp/storage area AGAIN!LOL! I will be back later to post a RAK from Michelle. Its raining here so I have to wait out this storm before I can get a pic. TFL!

Seal case

Todays featured stamper is Kim aka Blondie090277. She has a wonderful gallery! I cased her Sammy the seal card. I loved her background shading and TRIED it on my card. Yeah I think I'll just leave it to Kim!LOL!
I pulled the colors from the Paper studio dp I used. I used a real red 4 1/4" sq card base and bazzil yellow to mat the dp. I punched out the scallop circle in tempting turquiose and used fiskars circles for my main image. I colored the ground with copic marker e33 sand and prismacolor canary yellow for the highlight around the seal. The hambo seal is colored with prismacolor marker cool grey 40%. I love this adorable seal and when I saw Kim's seal card I knew I had to case it using my hambo seal! I dont have the stand stamp that goes with the seal so I used Kims idea to use a punch for the ball. I punched the ball with a 1 1/4" circle and drew lines using another circle edge. I colored the ball with prismacolor markers canary yellow and crimson red. I popped up seal on top of the ball. Now I wasnt really thing when I did this b/c the seal is over the awning but oh well!LOL! For the awning I used my Martha stewart border punch with textured wild wasabi. The awning, the seal, and the turquiose scallop are all popped up. This was a fun card to make and I will probably add a bday sentiment to it for one of the kids classmates. Have a great day!

Red Red wine

So how many of you know that song by UB40 and how many are going to be singing it for the rest of the day?!LOL! I have a triple challenge card here for you this morning. Todays inspiration challenge was a table setting. I was inspired by the red and turquiose colors and the red glasses. So I pulled out my Rubbernecker wine glass and sentiment from the Happy hour collection. I colored the wine glass with my prismacolor marker. For my layout I used Lauren Saturday sketch which went along perfectly with this weeks OCC limited layers challenge. I limited my layers but went a little crazy with the bella baubles!LOL! Really simple and quick card. Have a great day!

Swinging cupcake

I have a double challenge card for you today. I used Taylors cupcake challenge 28 and Heathers color challenge. I left off the soft sky from Heather colors b/c I have a hard time with 4 colors but I loved how the turquoise, rust, and choc chip looked together!

I used this cute monkey image from H&Ms Wild birthday wishes
and since hes holding a cupcake it fit perfectly for Taylors cupcake challenge. I colored the monkey using the gamsol magic technique and then outlined in copic cool gray no.1 marker. I used the white gel pen to go over his eyes b/c I colored them in. I also added diamond stickles to the icing of the cupcake. I added 3 ribbon strips to the image using choc chip and turquiose grosgrain. I cut a 2" and a 1 1/2" circle with my fiskars circles and layered the sentiment punched with SU large oval. Both the oval and circle layers are popped up. My card base is 6 1/2 x 7 folded in half so it measures 6 1/2 x 3 1/2. Hope you have a great weekend!

Batty Good day

How cute is this bat image and senitment from Treehouse?!?! The image and senitment are available NOW! Check it out here! Todays limited supply challenge is to make a lunch note
using an ATC card. Ive made ATCs before but never a card. I have to tell I just love these! They are perfect for a little I love you or Im thinking of you! I made this to give one of the kids for Halloween. My kids dont take their lunch very often but I like to make them a "spooky lunch" for Halloween!LOL!
This card was super easy to make. I started with the creepy crawly dp from last Halloween. I colored the bat with using the gamsol magic. I used the white gel pen to go over his teeth too. I cut the bat out and popped him up on a 1 1/2" black circle and a 2" pumpkin pie. I used my white gel pen and the fiskars circles to draw a circle around the black circle to match the pattern in the dp. The sentiment is stamped on really rust. I added pumpkin pie grosgrain and white brads for embellies. Hope you have a batty good day!

Hot blingy boots in the summer

I played with my new in colors today!!! I used this AC dp the other day and I couldnt wait to get my in colors in to use it!

Todays card is a triple challenge card. Todays ways to use it is bejewled. I used K & Co jewels on the polka dots on her rain boots. So now she has blingy boots!LOL! I also used mftsc42 for my layout. This card is also for the mfgd09 Hot in the summer. Okay you are probably looking at my card and thinking where did she get summer from this?!?!LOL! Let me explain. This dp that I *heart* is from American crafts. The circle dp is called hula hoop and the striped dp for her paper pieced rain coat is called monkey bars. During the summer we usually go to the park on Saturday mornings. You following me now?!? Okay for the rain or shine part. I actually have two answers for this...A couple of weeks ago we were going to get in the pool it was a little cloudy but the sun was still shining and it was HOT! We got out to the pool and it started raining but by the time we got to the door it stopped. So we decided to wait about 15 mins to see if it was going to start again. Nothing! So we got back out in the pool. We swam for about 30 minutes and it started raining. No clouds in the sky sun shining! What?!?! I was determined we were going to swim! We hadnt been in the pool all week. So I told the kids unless we heard thunder we were staying in. We swam in the rain for about 30 minutes before it ever thundered and they were sooo funny. They had a blast! Thats the long winded answer the simpler answer is when it gets HOT in GA like its been the last 3 days with heat index of 110 we usually have BAD thunderstorms especially late in the afternoon. Guess what its doing today?!?!LOL! Yep! Storming! If you look at the pic of the kids this morning you can see how thick the air is!

Have a great day!

1st day of school

Morning all! I just wanted to post this pic of my babies headed off to school this morning. We went yesterday to Open house and met the teachers.

Last night when we got back to the house I was talking with Brayden reminding him how he had to sit in class and listen. I dont know how it is where your kids go to school but here going from Pre-k to K is like night and day. They get to play and have center time and 2 recesses in pre-k. They do most of their reading and lessons in the morning. In K they have center time once a week and no recess (just PE) and hes a full fledge 5 yr old boy. Very active!LOL! Anyways...I was talking to him last night telling hime he had to be a big boy and it hit me he was going to Kindergarten!!!! I got a little weepy and he looked at me and said "Mama dont worry I'll be your baby boy even though Im a big boy!" Yep that did it!

I'll be back later with a card to share!

John Deere Green

I know you've heard the song!LOL! Well Ive been singing it in my head all day! I love this adorable image from Treehouse stamps. I made this card for Ashley's sketch challenge Bwc18. Treehouse is having a release tonight! Some super cute fall stamps so make sure you stop by!

Have a great day!

Petey sending sparkling smiles

Today brings us another fun sketch from Rox! The only thing I didnt like about todays sketch was I couldnt figure out where ribbon would fit in so I just left it off. I like the layout and will probably try it again later with a floral image.
For this card I pulled out Petey. Hes so adorable! He was begging to be played with since I got this KI Memories Simple stripes dp from HL a few weeks ago. It is so fun and bright! Petey is colored using gamsol magic technique. I outlined the image and the lines on the ice block with Copic cool gray no.1. I added diamond stickles to the fish in the glass, the puddle of water, and the lines on the ice block. The sentiment is another one from Verve visual. For embellishments I added clear dew drops. Im not sure who I will give this to yet but it will probably be a young girl since I used pinks/purples.
Today is the last day of summer for us *Boo* *Hoo**!! Danny and I were talking last night about Brayden. Tommorrow will be his first day of Kindergarten. My baby is growing up sooo fast. We went to my Moms last night and had a great time. Jessie and Danny took the kids fishing while me and Mama looked at the new SU catty!!! Great night!LOL! And.....I finally got my order so now I finally have the new in colors! So yummy!!!! BTW Alana outfished her Daddy last night and I had to tell everyone!LOL! I couldnt believe they were able to catch anything since it was so hot yesterday I think the temp was 99 and heat index was 110! Alana caught a 6 lb and a 4 lb catfish. Dannys catfish weight 3 1/2 lbs so he was thrown back! Ha!Ha! Alana was so cute she had to talk to Pepa (my Dad) and tell him how she caught the fish! She reminds me so much of me as a little girl. I used to love to go fishing with my Dad I even had my own little pole like Alana does. I remeber for Christmas when I was 12 or 13 I got my first "grown up" fishing pole. Of course Alana fishes just like her Mama I dont take the fish off the hook thats the Daddy's job!LOL! Have a great day!

Wild Groovy Vervesary

Todays color challenge is an easy one. Farewell in colors. Choose any in colors and neutrals just no other other colors. I chose to use my faves groovy guava and wild wasabi. I *heart* wild wasabi!LOL! I hate to see it go! I combined todays color challenge with Verve sketch challenge and it fit perfectly for Lauries challenge on Meet the Divas. So here is my triple challenge card for you today!

I knew I wanted to use my verve sentiment so I decided to go floral today. I pulled out this image from Garden Silhouettes that I just cut out this morning!LOL! I used reinkers and fantastix to ink up my image. I used pallette of prints in guava and wasabi. I have to use up some of my stash so I can get the new prints that are coming from the new catty! I also used fiskars treading water punch and added MM eyelets that are a perfect match for wasabi. I havent made a tall card in awhile and I love making them I just hate taking pics of them b/c I have a hard time. This card didnt photograph well b/c its heavy. I added dimensionals under the wasabi/white layer. Then I added dimensionals under the main image and sentiment.

We went to cheerleading and football yesterday and Alana came home with a busted lip and Brayden got a knot on the forehead. Great start huh?!?!LOL! Even with that they had a blast. Yesterday was just an evaluation and drills. They will all drive me crazy b/c practices dont start until Aug 26 thats 3 weeks that I get hear "Are we going to cheerleading/football today?" Yayyy fun for me! Have a great day!

Times fun when its sfytt

Sorry this post is so late but we've been in the pool again today. Mama even came over so we had a blast at least until Brayden went head first off the ladder and I was trying to get to him and my foot slipped off the ladder and went through it! So he has a bruise on his pelvis and I have one on my shin.

I made this card for todays featured stamper challenge. Todays stamper is Michelle aka Shellapoo. I was inspired by her frockling frogs card but I decided to use my neglected Hambo frog. I love this image! Hes sooo cute and the sentiment cracks me up!LOL! I used Jens sfytt for my layout. I pulled out my wintergreen dp from last Christmas. I love using this for frog images b/c of the colors. I dont think I made but one or two holiday cards with this dp everything else has been frog or turtle images!LOL! I colored the frog using the gamsol magic technique and outlined him with a copic marker. I colored the clear dew drops with my SU arthicoke marker to match my card. I used soft sky ds ribbon and some polka dot celery ribbon I got from Michaels $1 bin.

OCC Inspiration Bandit

Since Ive been a slacker blogger the past couple of weeks I decided to do two posts today! I made this card for the OCC sketch challenge and todays inspiration challenge. I went to Mamas today to stamp which is something we havent been able to do in awhile. I brought along this super cute AC dp for the inspriation challenge since I loved the striped and polka dot bag. The dp is Monkey Bars and Hula hoops. I used her fiskars wavy border and Martha Stewart circle cutter. I had alot of trouble using the circle cutter. I did find if you cut your circle first then stamp is was easier which is backwards from what I usually do! I had to stamp another balloon and pop it up to cover where the circle messed up! Those of you who read my blog regularly might remeber my Bandit card from before. I love this adorable raccoon image from Hambo and I named him Bandit after a stuffed animal I used to have as a little girl. Madison has a raccoon too and its one of her faves and she calls her Raccy!

We just got out of the pool again today. It really stinks that we are having great weather and this is our last summer weekend! Thursday its back to school and back to work! Yuck!!

Wild Birthday Wishes

Its Saturday so you know what that means! Another sketch and or color challenge from Heather! This week she also has some blog candy so go check it out and play along with the challenge.

I used Wild birthday wishes for my card today. I combined both the color and sketch (sorta!) I had to change my main image to an oval b/c the gator was too big for my circles. I used fiskars ovals instead. NEED NESTIES!!!! Thank goodness for a bday soon!LOL! I love the colors Heather chose this week. I will be using them again. I love how the night of navy seeing spots background looks stamped on the soft sky. I also had to leave off the sentiment and stamp it on the inside of the card b/c I didnt have enough room.

I used some colored brads on my card which is something I always forget I have. I just always seem to go for my silver brads for some reason. There is still something off to me on this card Im just too tired tonight to try to figure it out!LOL! Be back in the morning!

Thinking webby thoughts

Happy Friday! Yayyy! This is our last summer weekend here. School starts Thursday so I have some fun planned for the kids this weekend which means not so much stamping for me. Todays challenge think happy thoughts was to create a card to make someone smile. I love this adorable spider and sentiment coming soon from Treehouse stamps. The image and sentiment are in a stamp set called Creepy Crawly oh my golly. Lots of fun and cute halloween images and sentiments in this set!

For my card today I started with a summer sun textured ccs base. My rust layer is layered with Pebbles, inc halloween stripes and an old olive strip and ribbon. The main image is stamped on pti white and outlined with the copic marker. I added fun flock to the spider to make him even more FUN! I cut the circles out with my fiskars circles. I doodled the frame with my white gel pen. I stamped the sentiment onto summer sun and punched out with small oval punch and large oval punch. Super simple card. I cant decided if Im going to give this to my hubby or to Brayden. I think its makes a cute Halloween card!
