MFT triple challenge

My Dad called me the other day and asked me to pick my stepmom up a little something for under the tree since the computer he got her wouldnt fit!LOL! I found her a body splash, lotion, and body wash set. He called today and asked me to wrap it. How perfect....todays ways to use it challenge was "Its a wrap!". I decided to make a bag I used a lunch bag since I was out of kraft bags and made a genie bag (a little larger).
How cute is that KI memories Chill out blizzard paper! Ive been holding on to it waiting for my MFT stamps to come in!LOL! Today is the 20th so its also celebrating MFT day!YYAAAAAAYYY! For the layout of my bag I used the MFTsc09. I used basic gray for my base and layered w/KI memories dp. The pink strip is pixie pink and I tied basic gray taffeta ribbon on it twice. My main image is colored w/you guessed it...prismacolor pencils! I applied stickles to the snowman, the hill, and the tops of the girls boots. I layered my main image on ruby red and going gray. The sentiment is stamped with black stazon and outlined in pixie pink and layered w/ basic gray and going gray. I used black brads in the right corner to finish it off.
I will not be posting tommorrow. I have 2 class parties and we are having Christmas here at my house tommorrow night so I have tons of cleaning to do since hubby was here for 2 days w/kids while Brayden was in the hospital. Hope you have a great day!

Wintergreen Jingle

I have really enjoyed the sketch challenges the last couple of weeks! Todays sketch is AWESOME!LOL! It did take me a few to find an image to work with! I bought the jingle sentiment on my last trip to Michaels and I completely forgot I had the bell image until I went digging today!LOL! Come on ladies I know you all have them to! You know the big box with all the $1 stamps you've bought b/c they are only $1 and so cute and you'll sure you will find a way to use them!LOL! I think the bell was from last year but Im not sure.
I colored the bells with my primsacolor pencils. I think Im going to add somewhere on here all images colored with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol unless noted otherwise!LOL! I use them everyday! I actually have very few bold image stamps! I used my 1 1/4 " and 1 3/8" circle punches for my main image. I applied silver stickles to accent parts of the bell and diamond stickles for the bow. My sentiment is stamped in always artichoke. I had to put the sentiment over more than I wanted to to cover up a boo-boo!LOL! SHHH!! Dont tell! The photo corner was made with artichoke and I used silver eyelets and silver cord to tie it closed. All dp is Wintergreen dp. My cs is certainly celery, always artichoke, soft sky and PTI white. The soft sky looks darker in the pic for some reason.
While making my card this morning I ran out of mono! I went in a panic looking for some glue and pulled out this UHU glue stick I bought like a year ago. I love the stuff! OMG!! I cant believe Ive never used it before. Let me tell you it sure holds!LOL! Hope you have a great day!

cc145 Believe

Im back this morning in a much better state of mind after a good nights rest in MY bed and some REAL food!LOL! Brayden did great last night but b/c of the weather here I decided it was best to keep him home one more day for breathing treatments. The Dr. wants him to have one every 3 hours until his follow up visit.

When I saw the color challenge this morning I had to fight my usual urge when I see green in a challenge: Flowers or Christmas tree of course. I wanted to do a non floral/tree card. Ive had this Baby Jesus is born set for awhile and I thought the colors would work for this image. I was very happy with how my card turned out since I havent stamped in 3 days. Usually the first thing I make after not stamping for a few days takes me 2 hours and I still dont like it!LOL!

The image was colored with my prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. I applied Tulip white puffy paint to the lambs. I have become a complete Tulip puffy paint junky!LOL! I love stickles but I always have to order it online and that usually ends up with a full shopping cart at electic and a mad hubby!LOL! Tulip puffy paint adds dimension that the stickles doesnt so I like it when I want dimesion and sparkle! The puffy paint is also cheaper and I can get it at Walmart. I got 6 colors of puffy paint for less than $5. Dont get me wrong Im not knocking stickles b/c they have an advantage too especially with smaller images you have better control to not make a mess!LOL! I just like having options and I like using both just depending on what I want for my card.

Okay enough blah blah! Card recipe-

stamps: baby jesus is born, Believe in miracles (last year) Michaels $1 stamp

Paper: so saffron pp, so saffron, wild wasabi, elegant eggplant, PTI white

Ink: black stazon, elegant eggplant, wild wasabi

Other: wasabi ribbon, tulip puffy paint white, prismacolor pencils, gamsol, stumps,

Home

We're home. My Mom posted the previous post for me so you would know why I wasnt posting. Brayden is doin better. We still have to go for some follow up labs to check his white blood cell count his is very high even for an infection so they want to monitor it. He had pnemonia buidling in his left lung so thankfully we caught it and he had RSV. Basically all of his problems were respiratory. He scared me so bad Saturday Ive never seen him like that and dont ever want to again! He can go back to school tommorrow so he's happy. They have a field trip and class party this week that he didnt want to miss. Hopefully now everyone will stay well! I have alot of things to finish up this week before Christmas so I will be posting to share what I've made. Be back tommorrow!

Sick Child in Hospital

Just to keep you up to date and explain why I have not posted in the past few days I have 3 kids and for the past few weeks it seems like if it is not 1 it is the other one sice. Well Saturday I left the house to go meet my Dad to help him get his wife a computer for Christmas. Brayden slept the whole time we were at breakfast then started getting sick at his stomach. I did not like the way he was looking so I took him to the ER while my Mom and sister that we were meeting at Wal-Mart to finish up Christmas shopping took my 2 girls. 4 hours later we were taken up stairs to Brayden's room with a diagnosis of RSV. He was just at the docs earlier this week and put on high powerful antibiotics but either he already had it or picked it up after. I will be back in full swing next week, I hope.

Tangled Kitty

How cute is he??!!!? I stamped this Rubbernecker image along with a few others while I was at Mama's the other day when we were making candy. I only have a couple more Christmas cards to make and I've realized I havent inked up a few of my new Christmas sets so I will probably be posting more Christmas cards this week and next. As long as I ink up the stamp once during the holiday season I can justify buying it. Right!?!!LOL!
This card is for todays limited supply challenge to use a white card base. I colored this image last night and it fit perfect for todays challenge. I used PTI white for the card base its my fave for a white card base. The tangled kitty was colored using prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. I applied stickles to all the lights and the star. My card base is 5x5. The red ribbon is from Taylors share.
Alana is doing better today she had to get a shot yesterday and she did better than I would have!LOL! I have never seen medicine in a shot that was as thick and milky as what they gave her. OUCH!!! Im such a sissy when it comes to needles! NO Mama! I didnt pass out!LOL! All 3 kids are home today and we get to go back to the Dr. for them to swab Madison and Brayden so make sure they dont have strep too. I want to make sure and get them all well before Christmas.

Sketch Challenge-ish

Very quick post for now. I made this card this morning waiting for the Dr. office to open. I started with the Santa face image from Rubbernecker that Im so in love with!LOL! I colored the image w/prismacolor pencils and used my Tulip puffy paint for his hat and heated it to make it have more texture. My intention was to use yesterdays sketch challenge b/c I really liked it! Well I didnt figure in how big my image was and that it wouldnt fit so this is yesterdays sketch challenge minus the sentiment layer and the image layer!LOL! I used the holly from background basics and colored them w/prismacolor pencils and sponged and distressed with creamy caramel. Im very pleased with how this card turned out. I think its my fave Christmas card I've made this year and may not be given to anyone!LOL!
Alana is home sick today. We had a very long night. I had to call the Dr last night b/c she came to me complaining that her throat and tongue hurt. Well of course her tonsils were red and she had a rash on her tongue. I called the Dr and they told me to watch her closely through the night and if she began to run any fever rush her to ER so I got no sleep last night! She is fine though she has a very bad case of strep (sp) throat so she had to get a shot. Dontcha just LOVE this time of year!LOL!

Tropical Christmas

From the looks of it we are going to have a tropical Christmas here in GA this year!LOL! I still need some Christmas cards since my MIL and stepmom took some of my cards! I made this card today for the sketch challenge. I will give this card to my FIL who lives in Panama City Beach, FL. I used an unusual color combo but I think I like it! I used summer sun, real red, wild wasabi, and tempting turquiose. I colored the tree and sun w/prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol and stumps. I think I will go back and add crystal effects to the turquoise ornaments and the white parts of the hat on the sun for a little shine and dimension. I had to lay off the glitter since this is for FIL!LOL! I tried my hand at doodling again for framing still didnt pull it off too good, I may just need to invest in PTI borders and corners set! I used the shell image for the turquiose layer and added some dots I did like the way that turned out! I think its pretty cute! I loved todays sketch challenge!LOTS of layers on this one!

Brayden has been home for the past two days my kids are just taking turns right now being sick. The weather here doesnt help last week it was in the mid 30's @ night. This week we are running the AC @ night. It's 81 today! No snow this Christmas!LOL! N-E-ways Brayden was diagnosed with ashtma Monday after he had a bad ashtma attack Sunday night. He is on round the clock breathing treatments right now so of course he is bouncing off the walls!! He can go back to school tommorrow and hopefully the hair I have pulled out will slowly grow back!LOL!

Dashing Favorites

Im so addicted to challenges that I cant sit down and stamps without a challenge!LOL! How sad am I?!?!!LOL!
I was in the mood to stamp and went to all my fave blogs that have challenges today and saw Laurens (mytime) sketch for today and really liked it. I changed it a little for my image. On her sketch she uses a circle but I decided to use my tag image from Festive favorites. I need a few more Christmas cards before Monday to mail out. I still had dashing dp and colors on my desk from the other day so I used it. I colored the reindeer with prismacolor pencils and put stickles on his nose. The sentiment from festive favorites is stamped with real red on the river rock layer.
It sure doesnt feel like 2 weeks before Christmas here. My kids are running around with shorts and tank tops on today. We are headed to the park to play and get ice cream. Have a great weekend.

Dashing Holiday Gift

I made this card for this week's bonus sketch challenge. I started with a real red card base and used my new dashing dp. I love the polka dots!! The challenge was to make your card look like a gift. I used river rock double stitched ribbon and made a tag using Riveting on polyshrink. Okay on the next part I bent the rules a little b/c it looked too plain to leave the card with just he dp, ribbon, and tag so I decided to add an image. I used the Big on Christmas set (my new fave!) I stamped the image twice on vanilla and colored just the tree on the first image and cut it out to pop the tree up. On the second image I colored the H,P,P,Y with red and traced over holidays with river rock. I used my prismacolor pencils to color and blended with gamsol and stumps. I applied stickles to star and ornaments on the tree.

Snowman Hugs

I thought I would give you a break from stars today!LOL! This snowman was one of the images I posted about coloring while Madison was home. I knew I wanted to use wintergreen dp so I just pulled colors from the dp to color my snowman. Well Roxie decided to throw me a loop today by giving us a diamond shape for the main image. I decided to go ahead with it and try to make it work.

Its so funny how you can start on a card and the card seems to take on a life of its own!LOL!! I had no particular person in mind while making this card but as I turned the image to make it work for the sketch it looked like the snowman was running off the card for a hug!LOL! I instantly thought of my stepdad and my kids and their "GROUP HUGS!!!" The kids love it! So this card now will be to Papa from the kids with a big snowman hug sentiment inside.

Okay onto the deets...I colored the snowman using my SU markers and sky ink w/aquapainter. I used sky for the snow and to outline the snowman. The snow falling and the outline of the snowman are covered in diamond stickles. I (hmph) doodled around the frame!LOL! The main image is layered w/celery and arthichoke. The dp is layered w/soft sky and celery. I applied silver brads to each corner. The card base is textured soft sky.

Another star creation

Todays color challenge was summer sun, certainly celery, and old olive. I thought it would be perfect for the star studded season image. My card base is certainly celery stamped with flannel plaid with old olive. I used my new old olive dp matted with olive. The main images is stamped in summer sun with the sentiment stamped in celery. I love the sentiments in this set. My main image is matted w/celery and summer sun. I used my WW punch in olive for a tab. The twill ribbon is stamped with the stars from background basics in celery.

Madison was home sick yesterday so I actually got to stamp a little. She ran a high fever all day Sunday so all she wanted to do was lay around so I stamped some images to color while I was on the couch with her so I should have some more cards to share this week. I was positive she had strep(sp) throat b/c she had white pockets on both sides of her throat but they did a swab at the Dr. yesterday and it came back negative and she didnt run any fever yesterday so the Dr. said she could go to school today.

Star gift set

Hey everyone!! I thought I would share a gift set I made for my stepmom for her church Christmas party. I just got the wintergreen dp and I LOVE it and wish I had bought 2 packs!LOL!!!! I used a layout from Jens blog- I heart to stamp. I used the color combo from the paper. Sky blue, certainly celery, always artichoke, and basic grey. I love using bold images to make quick cards and I have very little bold images!LOL! I find myself buying the images that are fun to color instead of images that will make quick cards maybe its time to change that!LOL!

I took my stepmom to the Dr. this past week and she thought they were going to let her drive after that b/c its been 7 weeks since her surgery. NOPE! One more month! At least she will be released before Christmas. So it will be another month before I can get back into my blogging/stamping groove. Maintaining two households is getting tiring(sp)!!!! I miss doing challenges and my morning stamping routine but I feel like if I dont help her she will hurt herself doing things the Dr ask her not to do. She cant bend, lift, etc, ANYTHING! My Dad is on call 24/7 so she never knows when he will be there. I feel like I have to do what Im doing to sleep at night so please just bear with me for another month.

Dvd tin

Okay I know you all have probably totally given up on me!LOL! But Im back! I have been super busy with orders, my stepmom, and the holiday. I finally finished all my orders today but I went back to the store and almost everything I made is gone! YAAAYY for me! Today I have a covered Dvd tin to share with you. I saw this on Cambria's blog a month or so ago and loved it. My file folders didnt exactly turn out like hers b/c I didnt have any long notes envelopes but Im still pleased with the result.

I cant move the pics around I tried to post something on my blog a couple of weeks ago and it changed something on my posts that I cant fix it! Check out Cambrias blog (stamp a little love) to see her Dvd tin. I had to cut my notepad to fit it into the tin but I had fun making this! I used the brocade dp and theatre ribbon I love the elastic ribbon in that collection!

Featured Stamper Marshmallow Reindeer

I wanted to sit down today and stamp for FUN! Ive been so busy this week with swaps and a lady who owns a store here in town ordered a bunch of stuff for me to make for her shop! BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! When I saw Shelly was the featured stamper today I already knew I wanted to case one of her Marshmallow images and change it to the reindeer that I bought at HL on clearance last month. I love this reindeer! He is so fun to color! Shelly also sent me and Mom some other Marshmallow images so get ready to see some more!LOL!

I think this card is the cutest! I love the colors! I used lavender lace, purely pomegrante, taken w/teal, and close to cocoa. I colored the image with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. The image is layered with close to cocoa and taken w/teal. I stamped the cluster stamp from festive favorites on textured purely pomegrante and layered w/close to cocoa. I went over the circles in the cluster stamp w/my white gel pen for a little accent. The sentiment is from last years Michaels $1 bin stamped in pomegrante. The photo corner is Quickutz. The taken with teal ribbon is from Taylors share. I'm running low Taylor!!!LOL!

Madison had a school program Friday and we ate lunch with her. She was soooo cute! We will get the results from her ultrasound tommorrow so we're still keeping our fingers crossed. We are having Thanksgiving w/Dannys family tommorrow and we had Harvest Day at church today. Im gonna be stuffed all week long!LOL!

Christmas Swap

I usually dont post swap cards on my blog but since that's all I've been working on for 3 days now its all I have to post!LOL!

Okay I know this card is super simple and its usually not something I would turn in for a swap but let me tell you a little story.....I love to stamp but I have learned from the past few days I dont like to stamp for mass production. I get bored too easily!LOL! Stamping and coloring the same image over and over.....and over! I had to make 13 of these cards but I tell you it felt like 100. Things have been on the normal crazy side at home. Class programs, Dr. appointments, etc. All 3 of my kids were sick and now have gotten me and Danny sick. Okay back to the card now...I felt very bad when I sat down to do these swaps and I had to do them b/c they were due this week. I knew I wanted to do a square card b/c I was out of all other envelopes. So I cut my first card and put it together to make my template. The card was 4 3/4 sq. Now that I had my template made I got started on the other 12 cards. So I cut my card bases 4 3/4 x 9. Now if you are a match whiz you may have already realized my dilemma.LOL! I however at the time couldnt add! So I now have 12 card bases cut to 4 3/4 x 9. I start to score all my cards now. OOPPPSSS! I scored my first card at 4 3/4 and realized it didnt match up. CRAPPPP!!!!! So I start on damage control. I cut the card to 4 1/4 x 8 1/2. Well I cant make anything simple I could have just cut the card to 4 1/2 and left it alone and it would have been sq but did I realize that before already cutting half the cards to 4 1/4 x 8 1/2. NNNOOOO!!! After I finally had all the cards cut to the right size I punched out my scallops and used my fiskars to cut the circles. I stamped the Gina K Sandy claws image on the circle and the sentiment on the base of the card. I needed some type of embelishment for the card and decided on ribbon. Well I usually make cards with more layers than this card so my ribbon to where its hidden behind the layer instead of being on the back of the card and couldnt on this card so I cut it to 4 1/4". I tried to line the ribbon up with the edge of the card which turned out to be harder than I thought on this particular day. I finally put everything down for the day and went back the next day to color the images and assemble the card. I used my prismacolor pencils to color the image and blended w/gamsol. I added Tulip puffy paint in diamond to all the white areas of the image so it has some dimension and sparkle. FINALLY!! Almost done so I go grab my envelopes (that I should have done beforehand but oh well!!) I realize my envelopes are the large envelopes so now I have this little 4 1/4" sq. card in a 6 1/2" envelope!GRREEAATT!!! But at this point I didnt care! I just put them together and hope everyone likes the card.

Hope youre having better stamping days than I am!!! Hopefully I'll be back tommorrow with something that doesnt require a book to explain!LOL! Please keep Madison in your thoughts and prayers tommorrow. We are going for a renal ultrasound and praying my kidney problems have not been passed on to her.

Hambo ATC swap

I signed up for a Hambo ATC on Taylors blog. I still had the skunk out yesterday and decided to go ahead and make my ATC cards. I love doing ATC's! I used a non SU textured burgundy base (3 1/2 x 2 1/2)and layered with regal rose and paper studio dp. The skunk is colored with SU markers and has stickles on this tail and hair. The skunk is layered w/the ruby red and burgundy. For embellishments I used black grosgrain ribbon from Taylors share and silver brads. Have a great weekend!

"phew" and far between

I've got another combo challenge card for you today. I love Beates weekend sketch challenge and I havent been able to do one in the last few weeks so I was determined to do it this weekend. Her layout was perfect for todays follow the list limited supply challenge. The challenge was to use only one background, one sentiment, and an animal stamp. You could use any coloring tools and quick tools like punches. No embelisments! I used my giga scallop punch, fiskars circles, and my corner punch.

I used my Hambo skunk (aint he cute!) and colored the flowers w/my Su markers. I layered him on brocade blue (cut w/fiskars) and old olive (scallop punch). I pierced the scallops and added stickles to the white parts of the skunk. I figured he had to have something going for him so why not a little sparkle to cover up the smell!LOL!
I used bashful blue strip since we couldnt use ribbon. The inside has the sentiment that goes with the skunk: Friends like you are "phew" and far between.

Have a great weekend. We are Calico bound this weekend!

Princess Velvet's Double Challenge

Now you all know I cant miss a sketch challenge! I just didnt get to finish it yesterday!LOL! I love doing sketch challenges! This card uses sc149 I already had all my images colored and when Julia posted velvet challenge today I worked it into my card. The only velvet I had was a couple pieces of scrap ribbon so I tabbed (???) it underneath the main image. I love this little princess image from Missy B Designs. This is Alexas set if youre not familar with her story click on Laurens blog on the sidebar: My time, My stampendence.

I colored the images w/primsacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. I added stickles to all the jewels. I think it turned out pretty cute! Im off to eat lunch with the Mom. Hope you all have a great day!

Featured Stamper: JP Mayo

I made this card for todays featured stamper challenge. I love this challenge b/c it gives you a chance to case some great galleries. I chose Jimmie's Hanna card to case since I just got this set this week. I changed the dp, colors, sentiment, and added some stickles. I colored the image with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. I pulled my colors from the polka dots from my dp with are unfortunately covered up by the image!LOL! I used the corner rounder for my scallops and my ticket corner punch for the main image. I made faux brads with my stickles. I didnt have enough room for the entire sentiment so I only inked up the but... and the I need it is stamped on the inside of the card. Have a great day!

Happy Belated Bday rack

I got this super cute belated bday rack from Heather Phillips. I love the colors she used. You can see Heathers other creations on her blog
www.ribbonsandink.com
Thanks Heather for the super cute rak and the sweet comments!

MFTSC03 Teacher Christmas

Ive been wanting to participate in the MFT sketch challenges on the member companies forum and I finally got a chance to today. I'm so behind on all the challenges! I had to change the sketch a little for it to work for my card which I normally dont try to do!

This is for mftsc03. I wanted to use my new KI memories dp and went from there. I paper pieced the teachers skirt and colored her w/prisma pencils. The teacher image is cut out of the box and layered on celery. I had to distress the edges b/c my fiskars messed up one of the sides. (note to self:need new blade!) I used the chalkboard image stamped in garden green and sentiment stamped in bravo burgundy under my angled dp. The image needed a little something more so I stamped the present image from home for the holidays and used my silver stickles. To finish off my card I added silver brads to all four corners.

I had fun making this card mixing the two sets and it was the first time I've tried an out of the box image. It took tow tries but I got it!LOL!

Recipe
stamps:MFT home for the holidays, MFT back to school
Paper: ki memories dp, bravo burgundy, certainly celery, PTI white
Ink: garden green, pink passion, bravo burgundy
Other: silver stickles, silver brads, prismacolor pencils, sponges, dimensionals, oval fiskars

Holiday Triple Challenge

Did ya miss me?!!?LOL! We have been busy picking up pecans here. We have 7 trees we've been picking up from. I think this weekend we are going to shake the trees and that should wrap it up.

Todays challenge was to make a holiday card that could easily be mass produced and flat (no knots or dimensionals, etc.). When I think of mass producing bold image stamps come to mind so I went looking through my stamps. I didnt have any that didnt require coloring! So I pulled out all my acrylic sets since I wanted to also used Thursday's chalk it out challenge. I love using chalk inks on my acrylic stamps. I found this flower in my green thumb set from PTI. PERFECT!! I stamped the larger image with Versamagic aegan blue and the smaller in starlite silver. I added silver stickles to the centers. The main image is layered with bayou and basic gray. I stamped the PTI sentiment from faux ribbon on the bayou card base. The textured silver cs was from a metallic stack from DCWV. For the flat ribbon I used my basic gray taffeta ribbon.
Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Best in the field

Yes I finally made a card on the day of the challenge! Can you believe it?!!? I actually have a challenge combo card! Yaaaayyy for me!LOL!

This past weekend my MIL had a shirt that had a pic of a scarecrow with "Best in the field" on wooden sign and I thought it was the cutest! So of course I took the idea and put it on a card. The card layout is called the Z fold and is Beate's weekend sketch challenge #25. The bayou base is stamped w/flannel plaid tone on tone. The main image is a cracked glass image which is todays technique challenge. I colored the Hambo scarecrow w/my prismacolor pencils before embossing w/UTEE for the cracked glass. I had to use my wasabi new ribbon so I used the color combo: blue bayou, choc chip, wild wasabi, ruby red, and river rock. I also added in pumpkin pie for the pumpkins. I printed the sentiment out on my computer and used the large oval punch and dimensionals. The button keeps the card closed. River rock photo corner is quickutz.

I was having a good day until I realized what today was and it was like I hit a brick wall. We lost my Granny Hickey 18 years ago today to cancer. Her funeral was actually on Halloween day so for a long time it was too hard to enjoy the day it just didnt seem right. Those of you who read my blog regulary will probably remeber the card I posted sent to me by Cindy (mothermark) with the three little fishies song my Granny used to sing to me. I L'dOL a few times today remebering things about her! Okay yall all know how I love to tell stories so here's another one. My Granny moved in with us a few weeks before she passed away and I had a friend name Julie and her nick name was Poofy (b/c she had her hair cut like one of the guys from New Kids on the block I think his name was Danny). Dont ask!LOL! It was a dare LOL! Anywho...Granny always called her Poopy she could never get her name right! Rest in peace Granny you will be loved forever!

Happy Mail Day

Look what I got in the mail! I got this Thank you card from n5stamper (AKA Mom) for her party. Wasnt that sweet?!?! I lifted this pic off her blog. You can click on the link on the sidebar- Scrappinbelle - to see her other creations. Thank you for the beautiful card!

Happy mail day!!YYAAA!!! Im off to play now I will try to get a pic of a card today but the winds here are about 20mph so it might not be possible.

Poppin in

Hey everyone Im just poppin in before we head to the family fall festival at the Pre-K. I need to vent for a second b/c I feel smoke coming out of my ears!!! Alana got in the car today and told me some little girl in another class slapped her in the face!! WHAT??!!!?? Nothing in her folder informing me of this or any actions taken!NOTHING!! So needless to say I will be sitting in the office first thing in the morning! She did tell me they went to the principals office but try getting details out of a 6 year old! All she could tell me was the little girls said she was playing and she wouldnt do it again. How can you be playing slapping someone in the face??!!!?!?

After I get through at the school tommorrow Im coming home locking all the doors turning off the phone, etc b/c one way or another I AM going to get to stamps tommorrow!LOL! Things have just been insane lately! I had to take my stepmom to the Dr Tuesday which of course took up most of the day and Wed my sister put her car in the ditch. Drama and stress galore!!!

Hoos Birthday

I finally got to stamp today! Not alot of blah-blah today Im going to meet my Dad for lunch and after the kids get out of school we are going to the fall family festival at the Pre-K.

I combined todays masking challenge w/the sketch challenge. I had to move the panel to the bottom instead of the top b/c I wanted it to look like the owl was perched on the sentiment. This is for a boy in Braydens class so I couldnt make it too girlie so I just added some buttons.

Stamps: Carolyn King stamps, wood grain from Michaels

Paper: summer sun, kraft, choc chip

Ink: timber brown stazon

Other: buttons, hemp twine, markers, aquapainter, dimensionals.

Lots of pics!

Well I did get to stamp something FINALLY today and wouldnt ya know it started sprinkling and the wind was so bad NO PIC! So I thought I would share some pics from this weekend.

The first pic is of Madison at her field trip last week to the pumpkin patch. This was her second year going but this year they had a new inflatable bouncer that the kids could jump in. When Madison realized the thing closed up she quickly and politely told them she was NOT going in there!LOL!

The next pic is of Mama and Jessie at the costume party. Jessie was sooooo funny that night! We had a blast! He was a drunken pirate and believe me he fist the part!LOL! The kids thought he looked funny with this pirate wig.

These are my little superheros! They were so cute posing for the pics!LOL! Brayden- superman, Madison-supergirl, Alana-Wonder Woman. My neice Makayla did NOT like Danny or Brayden's masks and they both thought that was funny and tried to scare the poor child all night long!

The last pic is of my whole gang. Danny was the devil very fitting(just kidding) and I was part devil and part angel. My little ones are posing away again!LOL! Hope you enjoyed looking at my pics!

Pumpkin patch bear

Finally! I can upload! I had computer probs galore yesterday! First I couldnt upload my pic on my blog. Then internet was down all night last night around here. Walmart was even down and could only take cash. Talk about some MAD people in line!LOL! Danny was laughing at me last night b/c I was going crazy w/no internet! So not funny!

I made this card yesterday it was an idea my Mom had that I decided to put on paper. I used the pumpkin bear from a retired SU set called costume bears and the fence is from another retired set called Happy Fall Yall (I think!). I colored the image w/my SU markers and aquapainter on wc paper and layered on pumpkin and mustard. I kept the layout pretty simple on this one not alot of time to get into alot of layers. I had some leftover moss faux bows and ribbon from a card swap and decided to throw them on the card too. I pierced under the image and the left two corners.

We had a fabulous time today at the pumpkin patch and I will share pics later. Have a great day!

Amercian crafts popcorn slider

Todays challenge was to make a popcorn slider. Ive never made one before so I decided to jump on the challenge. This was super easy to make and I will definetly be making more. I used my American crafts dp and stem silhouettes. I colored the image with my markers and matted on rose red and certainly celery. I used the thank you from circle of friendship ( 1"circle) stamped in black and matted on soft sky ( 1 1/4" circle). I used my black grosgrain ribbon for my pull. I glued the end of my popcorn slider b/c I liked the way it looked better. Super easy and simple gift!

How sweet again

I made this card this past week and forgot to load it. OOPPSS! I was looking through my color combo book and found this color combo: ballet blue, rose red, and groovy guava. I colored the image w/my prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. I made my own dp with the flowers from butterfly kisses and put stickles in the center of the flowers. I put bling in the flower centers on the chair.

Sweet bling

Look what I got in the mail this weekend! I couldnt wait to get this set! Who doesnt love chocolate!??!!? I struggled with this card this morning. (Note to self: need a bigger card base than 4x4 when using image and sentiment!LOL!)

This card was made for todays challenge:BLING!! Ashley pm'd me yesterday so see if I wanted to do a challenge. HECK YEAH!!LOL! So we decided to make a 4x4 card using regal rose and certainly celery so of course I used my rule using choc chip as a neutral. This set was perfect for the combo challenges. I put stickles in the flower centers on the chair and on ALL the little dots in the background w/the choc drops.

I colored the image using my markers and aquapainter again! I cant stop!LOL! Well I actually have to b/c I used my last piece of watercolor paper today (pout). I put this card together like 3 or 4 times before I found a layout that would work. This layout is so not my usual style but I think it works. I already had everything I wanted on the card laid out and was determined to get it on there somehow!LOL! I used my quikutz choc drop (choc chip cs) and traced it on chipboard and cut it out and covered it in crystal effects. Of course this card is going to my sister I havent made her a card in a long time so I couldnt wait to get this set! All this ribbon I used today is from Taylor's ribbon share and matches SU colors perfectly!

wsc22 Unfrogettable

I made this card this past weekend and forgot to post it. I used Beate wsc22 for the layout. I had a hard time with this card. There's just something about it I dont like but Im not sure what it is.LOL! I started w/a cameo coral card base stamped with polka dot background tone on tone. I cut a 4" circle in apricot appeal and stamped the dragonfly randomly in cameo coral. I applied diamond stickles to the dragonfly wings and added bling. The frogs was colored using my SU markers and aquapainter on watercolor paper. I made grass using gable green and attached it under the frogs feet and added googlie eyes to the frog. I layered the frog image on gable green and orchid opulence. The dragonfly was colored w/SU markers and covered in stickles. I stamped the sentiment in coral and went back over the unfrogettable w/my SU gable green marker. The ribbon is from Taylors ribbon share.

BRAKS

Yesterday was a happy mail day! LOOK what came in the mail for me!

The first card is from Roseanne Knowles (sumtoy). Thank you so much for the card! I love the sheer ribbon on the card.

FS35 Cowboy Kid Case

Its been awhile since Ive been able to do a featured stamper challenge. Today the featured stamper is Anna (sweetmissdaisy) and she has an amazing gallery! I had alot of fun playing with my cowboy kid the other day and when I saw Anna's card I knew I wanted to case it. I loved her layout! I changed the dp, colors, brads, and sentiment.

I used my HL chocolate textured cs for my card base 4 3/4" sq. My main image is colored w/markers and an aquapainter. I saw yesterday where reneejul1 posted a card that she colored this same way and had to try it! I love the results! I used my choc chip, creamy caramel, ballet blue, night of navy, and rose red markers to color the image. I stamped the wanted sentiment in choc chip after stampin off but after I posted the card I noticed you really couldnt see it so I went back and stamped it w/out stamping off and it looks better. I distressed and sponged the image and torn the right top corner off. I layered my main image on night of navy. To make the tabs I used the HL choc paper and placed 2 silver brads I adhered the tabs to the back of the night of navy layer. My Daisy D paper was perfect for this card so I distressed and sponged and matted it on ballet blue. All mats are 1/4".

Julie is going to post a tutorial on coloring w/the markers and I'll place a link to her blog when she does. It's definetly something to try if you have the markers! Have a great weekend.

LSC136 DP

Sorry no post yesterday. I had a VERY bad day! Todays challenge was to use dp on your card and you could only use a sentiment and a background stamp. Well....sentiments are lacking in my stamp collection. I dont know why I just dont have alot of sentiment stamps only the ones that come w/images. Like the one I used today. I used the sentiment from green thumb (PTI). When I saw todays challenge was focused mainly on dp I knew I wanted to pull out my Daisy D paper I've been hoarding. I love the vibrant fun colors in this dp. I also wanted to use some ribbon I've been hoarding Charmaine sent me. I used the kickstand card by Kirsten b/c its a great way to show off dp. The kickstand card is easy just think of it like a tent topper card. You take your regular card base 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and cut 1" off the bottom of the front card base. When you add your shape for your kickstand just make sure it lines up w/the bottom of the inside card base (5 1/2). Hope that makes sense.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I think we are going shopping some this weekend!YYYAAAYY! Bad granddaughter that I am I forgot my Papa's bday Monday (oops!) so we are going to visit them one day this weekend. He has sold all of his cows and goats so the kids arent going to like that!LOL! Papa has 3 ponds so maybe one of them will have some fish biting this time! Last time we went they werent. We didnt even see them swimming around. It was very hot that day though! But Papa let them ride on the tractor so that made it better!LOL!

sc144 Garden Bling

I love todays sketch challenge and I wanted to do a cheerful, fun card so I pulled out my new Cutite pie dp from SU and my garden whimsy. The cutie pie and bashful blue layer is 2 x 4 with a 1/4" mat. The main image meaures 1 3/4 x 5 with a 1/4" mat. I used my WW punch to make tabs for my cutie pie layer and added bling . The main image is stamped in so saffron, purely pomegrante, and old olive. Each of the butterfly are 3-d and have stickles. When I finished the butterflies the image looked like it still needed something so I added the bling. The sentiment is stamped in bashful blue and layered w/bashful blue. I also added bling to the sentiment. This card really SPARKLES but its very windy here, cloudy, and it was beginning to rain so I had to take one quick pic and hope I got a good one.

Chocolate Bayou Kid

That sounds like a cowboy name doesnt it??!! So meet The Chocolate Bayou Kid long distance cousin to The Sundance Kid!LOL!

Okay about this card....I DID NOT have a good stamping day today. First off I knew better than to cut into my cs before making a template for the card. I used Beate wsc21 Library file folder card. After I messed up the first card I used a piece of computer paper to make my template. I still didnt get it just right but it will do for today!

I used today color challenge for the colors of the card. Choc chip, river rock and blue bayou. Well these colors just screamed cowboy to me! I also got to use some of my new blue bayou pp and choc chip wide grosgrain ribbon. I distressed and sponged all edges and the images were colored using primsacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. Im going to keep the blah blah short today since it took me 2 1/2 hrs to finish this card.

Tlc136 Doodle think fast

Todays challenge was a great one! Beth challenged us to take a pic from our gallery and the only thing you could change were the stamps and trim layers a little if needed. I still had this priceless card b/c the pic I took was horrible and I was going to take another pic well today was the perfect opportunity! I changed my stamps and wheel from priceless to doodle this and wheel. I used my white gel pen to color in the flowers from the doodle wheel and changed my ribbon placement hope the challenge police dont get me for that!LOL! I changed my sentiment to the faux ribbon sentiment also. I loved this color combo so it was fun to do another flower card with it. I havent inked up my big doodle flower in awhile so it got some love today!
Stamps: doodle this, jumbo doodle wheel, faux ribbon
paper: blue bayou, marigold morning, wild wasabi
ink: same
other: oval punch, Robert Stanley collection sheer ribbon, bling, dimensionals,
paper piercer.
Hope you all had a great weekend! The shower was lovely and my cousin got some great stuff. She loved the meal planner!YAY! Hello to any of the ladies who got my blog address at the shower!

A CASE of Sat.

Well as promised here is the gift I made for my cousins shower. Her shower is a room to room shower and each guest was assigned a room. My sister and I both got the pantry. I was kinda bummed at first b/c I was like what can I make cute for a pantry??!?! So of course I went to searching on SCS. My first thought was to make a recipe scrapbook and give some dry items to go along w/some recipes but then I remebered this cute meal planner Taylor made for DD one month. So I guess today will just be a CASE day!LOL! This was really easy to make once I had the right size rings. For those of you that have a fan club memebership for SCS Taylors was featured the month that the theme was food.

To start I took a piece of cardboard (you know like the ones that come w/SU dp) and cut it to 31/2 x 11. Score @ 31/2 and 7 to make a triangle or tent. This is where you will store all your recipes you are not using. Then I took 8 coasters one for everyday of the week and one for the cover and covered them in brocade dp. I sanded and distressed all edges and sponged w/choc chip. My cousins colors are neutral so I thought this paper would be perfect. I printed out the meal and planner on my computer and stamped the baroque in choc chip and punched out w/my scallop.

The other seven coasters are covered, distressed, and sponged also. Each coaster also has a day tab stapled to them. I used velcro for the recipes to attach to the coaster so its easy to change out. I printed out 10 of my fave recipes for her and gave her some blank ones to handwrite her own recipes on. All recipes were printed on the computer. I stamped the baroque swirl in choc chip onto the recipe in the lower right corner. Some of the recipes hang off the edge a tad but not enough that I wanted to redo them!LOL! I'll let you know if it will be a or not. Along w/the meal planner and recipes I have some dry items in the recipes Im giving her.

Shameless Case

When I was going through Dawns blogs the other day looking for the candy bar card I found another card I wanted to case. (Note to self: Dont go on Dawns blog she has too many amazing cards to copy!LOL) Mama got this Booglie eye set and let me borrow it and I hadnt inked it up yet. After seeing Dawns card this cute little spider got some ink!

The card is a trifold card (the measurements are on Dawns blog). For the front of the card I inked up my cheesecloth in versamark and embossed w/Holographic ep. I wanted a little sparkle! I punched a 1 3/8" sq. out of the front layer and used the sentiment from MFT fright night for the oval. I doodled around the frame and added bling to my oval sentiment.

For the inside layer I colored my spider w/prismacolor pencils and applied googlie eyes. I also added some crystal stickles to him. I punched out the spider w/a 1/4" sq punch and layered w/a bb 1 3/8" sq. I doodled around the frame on this layer also. The cheesecloth on this layer is stamped tone on tone (no sparkle). I also puched the large oval out of this layer for the second sentiment to peek through. The inside is white with the Boo sentiment stamped on the smallest oval on ww and layered on the large oval in bb. I doodle around the oval sentiment also. I attached the entire trifold to a bb base with the ribbon laying under the trifold to secure it. The ribbon ties at the front to keep the card closed. I used my white gel pen to doodle around the trifold layer. To see Dawns card and measurements click on the link on the sidebar -Dawns stamping thoughts.

I will be back later to share the bridal shower gift Im still not quite through with. Have a great day!

Lsc135 Flying Monkeys

I had alot of fun with todays challenge. We had to use a halloween image with a non halloween sentiment. I decided to also use non halloween colors for my card. Everyone who knows me personally knows I can be a bit sassy!LOL! I love the sassy sentiments in Missy B designs Sassy girls! I knew I wanted to use a MFT set for Kirsten's contest and I thought of my sassy girls sentiment.."dont make me get my flying monkeys"LOL! I love it! I called Mom to make sure using that sentiment wasnt "cheating". She said I should use one of my monkey images on the card too but I thought they would be too big. So we thought of using polyshrink to make a charm. I did two things on this card I havent done before polyshrink and paper piecing. YYYAAAAYY for me!LOL!

I started out with a choc chip base 4 x 5 1/2. I layered my American crafts dp measuring 3 7/8 x 5 3/8. I started out with the idea of using Wed sketch challenge but the sentiment wouldnt work right for it and I HAD to keep the sentiment so I had to adjust the layout. I used choc chip 1 1/2 x 5 3/8 with cameo coral ribbon wrapped around it for the center of the card. To get my charm to lay right I used a faux bow and used a glue dot to attach my knot to my ribbon. For my main image I used MFT fright night set. I didnt want the bats in the corner showing so I covered it w/a quickutz photo corner. The witch is paper pieced w/dp and colored w/prisma color pencils. I sponged the edges of the paper pieced dress and the main image. I matted cameo coral and so saffron with 1/8" mats. I stamped the sentiment on the opposite side of dp in timber brown and matted w/so saffron. The entire main image is up on dimensionals.

Madison went back to school today after much debate!LOL! She thought it would be better to wait until Monday to got back to school. Alana is already having to take breathing treatments and on steriods b/c shes having trouble. See told you 2-3 days did I nail it or what?!??! Peanut season-such a joy! Its so bad right now you can walk out the door and taste the peanut dust! Hope you have a great weekend! My cousins bridal shower is tommorrow so I will be back to show you a cute little gift I made for her.

wt133 Creepy Candy Bar

Todays challenge was Food Glorious Food. Well theres no better food than CHOCOLATE!! In this cards case dark chocolate which Im not a very big fan of but I had to use black instead of choc chip to match my paper. I had a really hard time photgraphing this card Im not sure if its b/c of the foil or the way the sun was sitting over the house or the fact that my cats knocked this card down 4 x's before I could get a pic!LOL! Sorry for the shadow when I take a photo of my cards I take several pics at different angles so I usually take anywhere from 3-6 pics of my cards then I crop and keep the best one. Well every card I took a pic of has this shadow.
Okay on to the deets...I started w/a white card base standard card size 4 x 5 1/2. I layered the card front w/ bb 4 x 5 1/2. Creepy crawly dp is cut to 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 I love this paper!! I stamped the trick or treat sentiment in bb onto the dp and placed brads in the corner. I used another piece of creepy crawly dp measuring 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 layered on ww with a 1/4 matt. I usually never matt w/ww but it seemed to work for this dp. To make the candy bard I cut a piece of bb to 2 1/4 x 4 1/4. This cs is a scrap piece that has places punched out but its covered up so no one will know!teehee! I pulled out the aluminum foil and wrapped the bb piece w/the foil w/an overlap so I would have some to tea. I used the piece of creepy crawly w/the sentiment on it for the candy bar wrapper. I cut it shorter so the foil would show at the bottom. I wanted it to look like someone had tore the wrapper open w/the candy bar peeking through so I went to tearing. To finish off my candy bar I tied a piece of black grosgrain around the bar and made a tag w/PTI spooky sweets. I saw an idea similar to this on SCS a couple of years ago but I couldnt find it this morning. I think Dawn5377 made it. Dawn blogs is Dawns stamping thoughts.
