Going, Going, Gone

Todays challenge was to use retiring sets. Well I can do that....90% of my stamps are retiring sets. I used basket full of fun on todays card. It is a hostess set in the current catty that will be retiring. I also used crosshatch a retiring background stamp. I wanted basket full of fun when the catty first came out and finally had a party within the limit to get it as a hostess gift. The sad part is I've never even inked it up!*GASP* How terrible is that!! I colored the bucket and apples w/markers after my watercolored image flopped! All the layers are sponged in going gray. The sentiment isnt covered up the way it looks in the photo.
This will probably be my last post for the week. I have some MAJOR stampin to get done. My Mom and I are going to a SCS gathering and I have 20 swaps to make that I have not even started on! I also have another swap of 15 I have to get done before we go. We will be out of town all weekend so I have to get them done this week! Hope you all have a great weekend!

sc126 Watermelon Ladies

This is a card I made for today sketch challenge. The color combo was inspired by a card made by CharmWarm on SCS. I love this combo! Its my new fave! I got happy mail yesterday I had 6 packages in the mail and my new papertreyink stamps were in it. The lady bug is from their new Little Lady May stamp set release. Have I said how much I *heart* papertreyink's stamps! Nicole does a great job designing these stamps.
The card base is regal rose matted with WWcs stamped with flowers and dots in regal rose, certainly celery, and black. The panels are black matted with celery with the ladybug trail stamped in celery. Its hard to see in the pic but the black vertical panel is pierced. The celery polka dot ribbon is from Michaels. The black brads are from Michaels also. What I love about this set is the body is 2 different pieces so you I stamped the bold part of the body in regal rose with the outline and antenna stamped in black. This set has 3 different antennas for the lady so you can them to match the look of your card another perk of this set.
We had a bad day here yesterday. DH pulled out his back at work. He was put on light duty at work which means he cant drive his truck (which is going to kill him). The doctor put him on a limited # of hrs he can work so he is having to do lite office work for the next 3 days until he goes back to the Dr. Those of you that know me and DH personally know that my husband is not afraid of hardwork. He works for Coca-Cola and throws about 600-700 cases of drinks a day and he weighs about a buck '05(soaking wet)! So having to sit around the office today doing odd and ends is going to drive him nuts!!!!!!!!! So he will be a joy the next few days! I love my husband but he is a bigger baby than my children are sometimes. Be back tommorrow with a new challenge post. Hope you all have a happy stampin day!

Joy Fold

Hope you all had a great day yesterday! Our internet was down almost all day (insert sad face here) but I did get some stamping done! This card was made using the joy fold. I found the tutorial here: http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2007/05/05/joy-fold-tutorial/
The card base is so saffron and old olive cs. I used the polka dots and paisley DP. I stamped the polka dots in so saffron and stamped off on WW with sentiment stamped in old olive for the main image. I also inked up the flower with taken with teal and old olive markers. The inside has the petals wheel in so saffron and the polka dots stamped in old olive. I used the button on the front panel to hold the flap down. Super easy and cute card fold! Try one today and link it back here in the comments!

Ribbon Inspired Cards

Dont you just love long weekends!!! I got some serious stampin time in this weekend. It was great!!! DH and kids watched the race yesterday and I stamped!! Check out my gallery today I've added a few cards there too!
Now on to the cards. Both of these cards use the same colors and ribbon. I was inspired by the ribbon for the color combo. I used mellow moss, bashful blue, and blush blossom. The first card I made I also used my $1 stamps from Michaels I always BUY but never USE! Why do we do that?! If it's only a dollar I cant resist it even if I never use it! I distressed all the layers on the card. I stamped tone on tone on both layers and colored in the flower with my white gel pen. This card was a quick super simple card.
The second card I made after I was stamping some Inky Antics stamps for a friend I am swapping stamped images with (Hey Ash) and realized how long it had been since I used them so I made a card with each this weekend. I colored the turtle with my markers and used sahara sand pencil for shadow. I think this one is my favorite of the two b/c I like the layout. Leave me a comment and let me know which one YOU like better and why!
Hope you have a safe and happy day! If the smoke clears here we are going to be grilling today and hopefully (fingers crossed) getting in the pool! Be back tommorrow with a new challenge card.

Last day of school

Well yesterday was the last day of school here...thank goodness!!! Still no mojo today so I thought I'd post a gift set. I found this cute princess diva items at Michaels in the $1 bin. There is a journal, notecards, post-it notes, and memo pad. I put a fairy coloring book, door hanger and wall hanger also. They were a big hit!! I gave one to my 2 daughters in purple and the color shown and their 2 best friends in pink.
Hope you all have a great Friday!!!

Thursday, May 24, 2007

Well my stampin mojo went out the door yesterday! I tried several different projects and nothing came together for me. The first thing I wanted to do was create some cards using the Hostess set Friends and Flowers I've seen some cute cards using this and very little stamping involved b/c the kit have cardstock stickers sounds easy enought right!??! Not so much for me yesterday. The first card has little pieces stamped on celery. The strip of patterened paper is layered with choc chop with stickers . I took a piece of so saffron cs and stamped itty bitty backgrounds stamped on it in so saffron. I used my 3/4" punch to punch out windows for the stickers. The ribbon slide is also a sticker from the kit.

The second card I made was another tent topper card. The card base is so saffron with PP matted on it. I used the photo corner stickers from the kit. I used my Fiskars circles to cut out my circle in rose red. I used my scallop circle punch in WW cs. The flowers are stickers from the kit. I used my celery marker to doodle around the scallop. This card is missing something I just couldnt make it work. I tried to add a sentiment on the front but it took up too much of the card.
YAYYY!!!!For Jordin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!She won!!!!Im off to try to find my mojo be back tommorrow with another project.

Michelle's Tent Topper Card

Well I promised you a new template today and here it is. I love having several different ways to fold cards and all the different looks you can get. Today's card is Michelle's Tent Topper cards. They are super fun to make. SOO EASY which Im all about! I stamped the card base with Well Worn Words in elegant eggplant on orchid opulence cardstock. The main image is stamped in Orchid Opulence and certainly celery. I applied silver stickles on the tulip. Ribbon is some from Joann's micro spools I told you about on a previous post. All layers are sponged with elegant eggplant.

Hope you all watched AI last night. Jordin was fantastic!!!!!!!!!So excited about tonights show crossing my fingers for her.

Here's the link to Michelle's tent topper card. There's not really a template but she give directions on how to assemble the card. No worries it's super easy but the outcome is too cute!!!

Crayon Resist

Yesterdays TLC was crayon resist. Splitcoast is down this morning but for the tutorial go to forums>challenges>Technique Lovers Challenge.

I need alot of practice on this technique!!! I chose ballet blue, pink passion, and lovely liliac for my colors and doodle this stamp set. I love the doodled look and thought the crayon resist technique would be good to use with this stamp set because you use the white crayon to resist the ink and highlight. It also a great way to use y9ur glossy paper I bought some 6 months ago and probably have cut 1 full sheet out of it.*GASP*
Isnt my baby a doll!!!!!!!!!!!! This is Alana's pic from graduation day Friday. All the kids were so cute and the teachers did such a great job putting it together. Now I have a funny little thing to share this morning, Friday when they were graduating each graduate was given awards-class and school etc. Well Alana received an IRA Reader of the Year award, Star Reader of the year award, Public Speaking award, and Most Inquisitive Award now I only know this because she came home with these and I actually got to look at them b/c during the ceremony as she was walking they were calling off her rewards the second one they called was the Most Inquisitive Award and my Mom and I all but ROFL. You would have to know my daughter but this was just hilarous!!!!! My Mom walked by me b/c we were filming and taking pics and said HMMMMMM!Wonder how she got that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Alana is a 6 year old so she talks constantly and has to know "WHY" for everything!!! Ya gettin my point here!! It was so funny b/c my Mom and I were so busy laughing we had no idea what other awards she got! Just a note they only gave 2 Most Inquisitive Awards out of 4 classes. I can just picture Alana in school questioning everything....so cute(sometimes).
I know yesterday I promised a new template but ran into a few probs so I will post it tommorrow.

More VSN weekend

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a fab weekend. I had so much fun this weekend. DH and the kids worked outside and I played inside. This is 2 more posts from VSN weekend these were from Saturday's challenges. The first pic with Bold Butterfly was to use the baby wipe technique. I never done this before I love the way it turned out. I used cool caribbean, certainly celery, and pretty in pink reinkers to stamp the bold image of the butterfly and stamped the outline in cool carribbean. I also stamped the bold image of the flower on certainly celery.
The second pic is from the challenge to create a thank you card that didnt have "thanks" or "thank you" stamped on it. Bubble Queen was the perfet set for this what better way to say thanks than to tell someone "Youre Fabulous". The sentiment was stamped first in apricot appeal and then stamped in black. I stamped the flower on turquoise for tone on tone. The main image I colored with markers since we had a time limit I didnt want to use gamsol and pencils. I used turquiose, cameo coral, apricot appeal. The bubbles in the tub I used the blender pen on for a softer color. I went over the bubbles above the tub with stickles. You can see the rest of my VSN creations in my gallery at Splitcoast.
CRMC ladies dont forget we will be ordering this week! Pallete O'Prints is still going on. Did you all drool over the preview brochure!???! Be back tommorrow with a new template!

May VSN- Emerald City

Last night was so fun! I participated in my first VSN(Virtual Stamp Night) at Splitcoast. Last night was the tailgate party and went from 6-12 with challenges posted every hour. You have a 45 minute limit to create your card. This card was my fave from last nights challenges. It was the Emerald City challenge and we were to create a card pertaining to the movie Wizard of Oz. I was so excited b/c I bought this stamp set from Missy B Designs called Sassy Girls. The sentiment used in this card was the reason I bought the set. It sooo sounded like something I would say. The sentiment fit perfectly with the challenge. I had to keep the layout pretty simple since I spent so much time coloring the image I would have done more to the card but would have ran over the time limit. My DD's wanted to help a little too much they created a card last night too for VSN. Check out my gallery at Splitcoast to see my other creations from last nights VSN. Join in on the fun today-VSN begins at 12 p.m. today you wont regret it I promise! Have a great weekend!

Wt113-Small Stamp Rerun/LSC116-May flowers

Happy Friday to everyone. I have been slack this week on posting challenges so I have two for you today. I got up this morning when DH went to work (5:30 a.m.) SOOOO not my thing. I dont do mornings and anyone who knows me personally knows this! Anywho I was glad I did because today's limited supply challenge was fun! If you havent participated in the weekly challenges at Splitcoast I challenge you too. I challenge you to a challenge tee..hee... They are a great way to get you stampin and while you're there join the RAK club so you will have someone to send your fab creations to. Okay now on to the cards...
The first card is what I call Phoebe fishes this card was made using a basic black card base. I matted a piece of Phoebe Basic Grey paper from the 6x6 pads on black. Now for the fun part I covered the chipboard from On Board Accents with another coordinating piece from Phoebe and punched the circles to make a window. I sanded the edges to soften them and sponged green galore on the edges. I layered the chipboard piece on WW then I stamped the fish from Very Punny. The fish is colored with green galore marker and his bubbles are colored with tempting turquiose marker. I stamped the Best Fishes on the bottom right corner in Black. The ribbon is black grosgrain I put it there b/c I had to fix a boo-boo. I stamped the Best fishes in the middle and it didnt stamp right and as my previous demo always said "There are no mistakes in stamping only embelishment opportunities". This card was made for the Ways to Use it Challenge yesterday. The challenge was to use small stamps (1 1/2" or smaller) you could use them alone or grouping.
The second card is for the limited supply challenge May flowers. There was a list of supplies you could use but the main image had to be a flower stamp or an image with flowers in it (fluffles or bella stamps, etc.) You could only stamp the image once and no two step stampin. Well this meant I could not use my Wild Rose set or Both Way Blossoms which I wanted to use. So I pulled out my Big Blossom which has been begging to be played with. Some of my favorite color combos are the dynamic duos on the front of the color wheel. I went with Summer Sun and Barely Banana. I inked the blossom in summer sun and matted on barely banana. I used my distressing tool to rough it up a bit. You could only use 1 sentiment stamp so I pulled out my Riveting hostess set and inked up the thank you stamp in barely banana and cut it out to be the center of my flower. I also used a page pebble over the flower in the center of the riveting image. I used summer sun and distressed it over the white card base. TFL. Hope you have a great day!

Crate Butterfly

On Taylor's blog yesterday she had a fab card using American crafts double sided paper. She mentioned how she loved using it for cards because the inside had a coordinating solid color for sentiments. I had the exact paper she used on her card from American crafts but changed my mind and went a different route. I love Crate paper it has wonderful texture and I love the distressed look it has. The paper I used on this card is from the Taylor collection (too funny Taylor inspired card using Taylor paper) from Eclectic Paperie. I have neglected my Butterfly kisses set from Paper Trey Ink so I pulled it out and used the butterfly with the dots since I was using polka dot paper-perfect match! I stamped the solid butterfly in bashful blue then I stamped the dotted butterfly in Chocolate Chip. I doodled the antenna with my Chocolate Chip marker. The birthday wishes sentiment is stamped in garden green. Grosgain ribbon is bashful blue with ribbon that I got at Joann's a few months ago for $0.50. They were having a sale and there micro spool ribbon is usually $.99 but it was 1/2 off and I bought 20 spools! I love me some ribbon! The satin ribbon used here is a perfect match to Chocolate Chip. TFL!
Well Melinda goes home last night on American Idol which puts my girl Jordin in the finale along with Blake. Now I know there are some Blake lovers out there but I just adore Jordin she has such a great voice! We'll have to see next week what the finale will bring. My oldest daughter Alana loves watching American Idol with Mommy. She gets to watch the performances on Tues. night but Wed. night is past her bedtime so that is always the first thing she ask me when she wakes up...Mommy who went home?
Tommorrow will be a late post because Alana is graduating from Kindergarten tommorrow so they are having a program @ 10:30. DH is so mad they are having in the middle of the day b/c he cant go so I'll have to take lots of pics for him. Im sure she'll give him an encore performance when he gets in Friday night. Have a great day! P.S. For those of you that have been lucky enough to see the preview brochure (it was on the demo website yesterday) how awesome are the new in colors!

CC114-Bodacious Colors

Well I promised you a new post and here it is. Check out my new watermark! I spent all day yesterday trying to get it on the card and loaded onto my blog. BIG headache! I found this neat tutorial on Dawn's blog but I had to make some changes b/c I think her measurements were wrong. What I did was cut my paper at 51/2 x11 score at 2 1/4 put my white cs inside and made the 2nd score mark then cut 2 1/4 from the score mark. After you look at the tutorial it will make sense to you.

Now I have to say that usually when I try a new fold, technique, etc. I always use just a scratch piece of paper not my pretty cs for reasons just like this but after I figured it out I was pretty proud of my card today. I used Bodacious Boqouet and Faux Ribbon sentiment from PaperTrey Ink. *Enabler alert* PaperTrey Ink debuted a new set today that is a must have. I love it!
Tonight is American Idol night so you all know where I'll be come 8:00. Just for A.I. fans a little spoiler-I was right Simon picked Jordin's song, Paula picked Blake, and Randy picked Melinda. The songs chosen are Melinda-Whitney Housten-I believe in you and me, Blake-The Police-Roxanne, and Jordin-?(I forgot)-Wishing on a star.

Oh, I almost forgot the link...you wouldnt have liked that! Here it ishttp://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/dawns_stamping_thoughts/2007/05/new_tutorial_fo.html

No picture!

Sorry ladies! I dont have a pic today to post. I promise to have a pic for you tommorrow. So instead today I would like you to leave me a comment on the things you would like to see on my blog techniques, templates, etc. Be back tommorrow with some eye candy!

TLC116 Warm Up

Sorry for the last post today. I have had computer problems this A.M. I think it's been the operator but anywho...Today's technique challenge was hosted by 11Valerie11 and her challenge was what she calls warm up cards. 3x3 cards to help get your creative juices flowing. For this card I stamped French Script background in creamy caramel on caramel cs for tone on tone. I stamped the Happy Harmony quote on WW cs in always artichoke. I stamped the flower off 2x's before stampin it on the quote for a lighter image. The flower was stamped in regal rose. This is a great color combo I will use again.

Hope all you mothers had a wonderful yesterday. My hubby took the kids outside for awhile yesterday for me to play so I got some stamping done I will share later on this week. Be back tomorrow for a new challenge and layout.

Very Punny Fish

I hope you are having a better day than we are here. It's so smoky you can hardly breathe which is not good for my daughter. She is already weezing and pulling hard to breathe. Sometimes I wish I could just help her breathe, when she is sick I feel so helpless because I just wish there was something else I could do for her.

This is a card I made awhile back from the SAB catalog. Very Punny was the must have set in the SAB for me. This little fish is just too cute to me! I saw a card like this except the card base was yellow and now I cant seem to find it in the Splitcoast gallery but it was so cute. Cheesecloth is stamped in black on the lower portion of the card with the fish stamped over the bkgrd. I colored the fish with the cool carribean inkpad and a blender pen. The cord is some I got at Hobby Lobby and the fish charm is cool carribean cs stamped with black. I also used the itty bitty backgrounds to make more bubbles for the fish. Hope all you mothers have a great day tommorrow. Happy Mother's Day.

LSC115-Wide Open Spaces

Todays limited supply challenge was wide open spaces and I have had the Dixie Chicks song in my head all morning long. This is a card I made using my new goodies. I have to say Im not a huge fan of acrylic stamps. I feel I have more control over the rubber wood mounted stamps (like SU). Not dont get me wrong there are some beautiful acrylic stamps sets out there I have just hesitated on getting any...until now. I adore the papertreyink acrylic stamp sets. I have 2 now and will be getting the other 2. They are just awesome. Nichole puts such detail in designing these stamp sets. If you haven't checked them out yet click on the link on the right where I shop.

Okay back to the card. When my Mom and I went on our shopping trip I picked up some Versamagic DewDrop Inks. I love the soft look you get with them. I got mine at Joann's there were 4 coordinating colors in a pack. I used here Persimmon to ink up the flower. KeyLime was used for the sentiment as well as the dotted images. The stripes at the top and bottom were inked in pink grapefruit and the widest stripe was inked in Mango. The brad is some I got from Michaels.

Off to help our school for the PTO porkchop plate dinner for tonight. We sold 1,000 plates. Yipppee. Now we have to put 1,000 plates together. Stop by tommorrow I have a little story to tell you about what happened yesterday while we were cutting the cake slices at school.(stop laughing Mama)

WT112-Coasting Along

Today's Ways to Use It challenge was coasters. This was perfect for me b/c last week my fab upline showed me a great gift idea. This is a covered coaster with a magnet strip on the back so you can stick it on the fridge, filing cabinet, etc. Im so loving this big clip from Wal-mart. They are so fun to make.

The coaster is covered in Sarah PP and 5 holes are punched at the top. FYI if you dont already have a crop-a-dile it is so perfect for punching through the coasters. The ribbon used is bluebird and maize grosgrain, and blue gingham. There is also bluebird ribbon on the clip. For the clip we seeing spots is stamped in brocade blue on bashful blue cardstock. The flower is stamped in apricot appeal with the flower from seeing spots and we added a silver brad to the center of the flower. There are some great ideas in the gallery for coasters so run over to splitcoast and check them out. Here is a tutorial for the clip. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/paperclipbookmarks.php

Hope you have a hoppy stampin day!

BTW my girl Jordin is still in the competition next week they go home and the judges pick their songs. I hope Simon picks Jordin's song b/c he usually picks the best songs for the contestants. Paula will probably pick Blake which will leave Melinda for Randy. Now we'll have to see if Im right next week.

Changes

Just making a few changes to my blog today.

Best Blossom Perhaps

I'm on a roll 2 challenge days in a row. This card is for today's sketch challenge. Yesterday's sketch challenge was a color challenge and to make the card for a little boy named Shane for his 8th birthday. If you havent done a splitcoast challenge I encourage you to try it out. They are fun and will defintely get you stampin! Today's sketch challenge was squares. I bought this DP from flaxychick awhile back and instantly thought of Best Blossoms when I saw the flower on Basic Grey Perhaps DP. I love the 6x6 pads of Basic Grey DP they are so perfect for cards. I 'm so glad SU jumped on the bandwagon with the 6x6 pads. For this card I distressed the edges of the paper and sponged in regalrose. Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink were the best matches I found for the Perhaps DP so I stamped the Best Blossom in Pretty in Pink and shaded with Regal Rose. The ribbon is some I got at Michaels. The belt loop is a 2x2 Quickutz shape. For a shading with markers tutorial chlick here http://inkblots.webseitler.com/blog/2007/03/tutorial-tuesday-shading-with-markers.html

Hope everyone voted for Jordin last night! She did awesome as usual. Hard to say what will happen on tonights show. Besides being an American Idol fan I am a big Gilmore Girl fan so during commericial breaks Im flipping to Gilmore Girls b/c I can catch up with what I missed on Gilmore Girls when it comes out on DVD. Sadly next week is the series finale of the gilmore girls gonna miss 'em! Anyone who knows me knows I hate commericials so anytime one of my fave shows comes out on DVD I have to have it so I can watch reruns w/out commericials how great is that! So if you havent already guessed my house is full of toys(3 kids ya'know), my crafts, and movies probably in that order!LOL! Off to do housework(so fun huh!??!)

A New Pocket Card

One of my favorite folds to use is a pocket card. They are so fun and easy to make. I found this pocket card on Paula's blog. She has a super easy tutorial for this card. I used my Polka Dot and Paisley paper along with the stamp set to make mine. With graduation and weddding season just around the corner this card would be perfect for it. A baby announcement would also be great for this card because you could include a pic on one of the inserts.
Are you ready for American Idol tonight? I think the final 2 will be Jordin and Blake but I think (crossed fingers) Jordin will win. My family loves watching the show it's so funny watching my 3 kids dancing around and singing when someone they like is on stage. Of course they are still young enough to agree with mommy and daddy most of the time so they like who we like. Hope you have a stampendous day!
Oh, I bet you would like a link to the card tutorial huh? Okay if you insisit. Here it is http://stampnscrapwithpaula.blogspot.com/2007/03/surprise-saturday.html. Have fun!

All wrapped up in French Script

I found an awesome pocket card on one of my fave blogs. On the right you will see a list of awesome blogs to check out. Twisted Chick Creations is Michelle's blog (aka flaxychick) she has such a unique style. I used orchid opulence as the card base. The pocket is elegant eggplant. I stamped the All year Cheer I in orchid. The flower is popped up above the sentiment. The ribbon is some I got at Michaels. I stamped off and then stamped french script on the bookmark. The stem and flowers are from All Wrapped Up. I colored the flowers in eggplant and orchid. I love the look of prisma pencils blended with gamsol and stumps. I have a list of prisma pencils that match with SU colors if you would like the list leave me a comment on today's post. Check out www.dickblick.com they have great prices on prisma pencils and you can buy them indiviually or in sets. I bought just the ones I needed to match SU colors. I will suggest if you do use the prisma pencils to get their sharperner other pencils sharperner just dont work as well on these particular pencils because of the soft lead. Other sharperners will break the lead off before you get the pencil sharpened and when you finish you have 1/2 a pencil left (ask me how I know this!) Today is the last day I will be doing retiring sets. I am so ready to get my hands on the preview brochure and cant wait to see the new catty. It's like waiting on Santa!

All Natural Elegant Greetings

Today I combined two stamp sets. French script background and Elegant greetings go so great together. Elegant greetings are my fave sentiment set and I never use them without French script. The flower is from All Natural. All Natural was one of the first stamp sets I saw demonstrated. The demo used the pear and colored it with stampin pastels and it was beautiful, but for some reason I kept putting off getting the stamp set. I think the reason I hesitated on getting it because it just wasnt my style and I didnt think I would use it alot boy was I wrong! There are some amazing cards people have created on Splitcoaststampers with this set.

For this card I used Apricot Appeal card base stamped with French Script in Pumpkin Pie ink. I layered Always Artichoke on the bottom half stamped tone on tone with the leaf from All Natural. The flowers were watercolored using reinkers and aquapainter in apricot appeal, pumpkin pie, regal rose. The flowers were mounted on on regal rose and pumpkin pie with the ticket corner punch. I used hemp twine around the image and used regal rose marker to ink up the word thoughtfulness from the Elegant greetings on the WW punch on regal rose. Have a good Friday!

Bold Butterfly

Well my blog "ate" my first post this morning so we are going to try this again. Todays card is my #3 fave on the retired list. I love bold butterfly because it is so pretty with the bright colors. I used the dazzling diamonds technique for the main panel. The dazzling diamonds technique can be found on splitcoaststampers under the resources page. This card is very sparkly IRL. I have a confession I am a total DP hoarder! I love paper but have a hard time using it. Not today though! I cut not just one but two pages of my DP. Big claps for me! I just had to the colors matched perfectly with pink passion and pumpkin pie and the flowers on the DP were a perfect match with the flowes in the bold butterfly set. DP is My Minds Eye slab I got at Michaels a few months ago well almost a year! It is the first time I've used any out of the slab. I told you I was a paper hoarder! The three brads at the bottom are also some I got a Michaels.

On a personal note last night was insane. My daughter had her pre-k graduation program. We were meeting family to eat before the program and we were 20 minutes late because Madison could not find her shoe (she says my nother shoe) usually so cute NOT so much last night. When we got to the place they were having the program which we were actually on time for it was packed! No where to sit period! So we had to stand the entire program along with my two other kids and grandparents. It was so hot I was pouring sweat! Each class sung a song and got their certificates so I was in the front camera ready when Madison class sang. She was on the opposite side of the stage and I could not get a pic of her while they were singing so I thought okay I'll just get one of her as she gets her certificate b/c she would be right in front of me. Guess what?!! My battery died on my camera the second they called her name and my batteries were in my person in the back where my family was standing. I wanted to cry. All that aside it was a memorable night my little girl had reached another stepping stone in her life. I did manage to get a pic after everything was over outside. That's all you need at the end of the day one thing that can make you grin from ear to ear.

Fishy Friends

This is #2 on list of jaw dropping sets on the retirement list. I love fishy friends and silly sealife. They are so fun! As you can see I have alot of cartoon animal images which are my absolute faves.
I found this awesome prismacoloring tutorial a few months ago and has been on my to-do list but we know how that goes sometimes! I knew I wanted to do a post with fishy friends today and remebered the tutorial(which actually uses fishy friends) so here it is. I used summer sun, brilliant blue, glorious green, and ruby red cardstock and matching prisma pencils. http://hopartstudios.typepad.com/hop_art_studios/2007/02/prismacolor_lay.html
Layout was Splitcoast challenges sc120. All three panels have cheesecloth stamped tone on tone. Cheesecloth is another stamp that is retiring and it goes great with this set.

Retired List

Well it's that time of year again when we adios to some of our favorite sets. So this post is for Frockling Frogs-RIP. This is one of the sets that made my jaw drop while going through the retired list. My jaw actually got quite a workout this morning as I was going down the retired list. This week I will be doing a post daily on the jaw dropping sets that are retiring. Since everyone's faves differ leave me a comment telling me your fave set that is retiring.

But before I go I have to show some goodies that left my pocketbook a little lighter this weekend.
