Happy Friday to everyone. I have been slack this week on posting challenges so I have two for you today. I got up this morning when DH went to work (5:30 a.m.) SOOOO not my thing. I dont do mornings and anyone who knows me personally knows this! Anywho I was glad I did because today's limited supply challenge was fun! If you havent participated in the weekly challenges at Splitcoast I challenge you too. I challenge you to a challenge tee..hee... They are a great way to get you stampin and while you're there join the RAK club so you will have someone to send your fab creations to. Okay now on to the cards...
The first card is what I call Phoebe fishes this card was made using a basic black card base. I matted a piece of Phoebe Basic Grey paper from the 6x6 pads on black. Now for the fun part I covered the chipboard from On Board Accents with another coordinating piece from Phoebe and punched the circles to make a window. I sanded the edges to soften them and sponged green galore on the edges. I layered the chipboard piece on WW then I stamped the fish from Very Punny. The fish is colored with green galore marker and his bubbles are colored with tempting turquiose marker. I stamped the Best Fishes on the bottom right corner in Black. The ribbon is black grosgrain I put it there b/c I had to fix a boo-boo. I stamped the Best fishes in the middle and it didnt stamp right and as my previous demo always said "There are no mistakes in stamping only embelishment opportunities". This card was made for the Ways to Use it Challenge yesterday. The challenge was to use small stamps (1 1/2" or smaller) you could use them alone or grouping.
The second card is for the limited supply challenge May flowers. There was a list of supplies you could use but the main image had to be a flower stamp or an image with flowers in it (fluffles or bella stamps, etc.) You could only stamp the image once and no two step stampin. Well this meant I could not use my Wild Rose set or Both Way Blossoms which I wanted to use. So I pulled out my Big Blossom which has been begging to be played with. Some of my favorite color combos are the dynamic duos on the front of the color wheel. I went with Summer Sun and Barely Banana. I inked the blossom in summer sun and matted on barely banana. I used my distressing tool to rough it up a bit. You could only use 1 sentiment stamp so I pulled out my Riveting hostess set and inked up the thank you stamp in barely banana and cut it out to be the center of my flower. I also used a page pebble over the flower in the center of the riveting image. I used summer sun and distressed it over the white card base. TFL. Hope you have a great day!
