Morning Glory
I was not happy at all with my card on Monday so when I saw the color challenge(kraft, orchid opulence, and sage shadow) I knew I wanted to keep it simple. I made this over at Mama's so I had to use her new set that I dont have yet. Its called Morning Soft and includes this beautiful flower image and sentiment. I have been wanting to try coloring w/my prismacolor pencils on kraft paper so the color challenge was a perfect time to do it! I added crystal stickles to the flowers and leaves after coloring. I matted the main image on sage shadow. The orchid opulence layer is stamped with fine lace tone on tone and adhered to the kraft 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 card base. I kept the embellishments limited too but using the kraft taffeta ribbon and a ribbon slider (that I swiped from Mama!LOL) I love this image so you will be seeing it again. It was fun to color and you know Im all about the coloring. Tommorrow I actually have a card to share w/no coloring!*GASP*!
I also wanted to share with you this pic from the beach. We went to the state park while at the beach for Danny and his Dad to fish I think its called St. Andrews. As we were leaving we saw these two deer so of course we had to stop and take a pic. They just kept eating but they were right beside the road so the kids could see them up close and they loved it. Madison saw them and said "Bambi!!"LOL! Gotta love Disney!

Wanted Cowgirl
I ordered this super adorable cowgirl image from MFT and it came in before we went to the beach so I had to give her some ink today! The first time I saw the set all I could think about was pairing it with the SU Outlaw dps. I used todays sketch challenge for the layout and cut 3 dps at different widths. I think they are 2 1/8, 1 3/8, and 1 7/8. All are 3 1/4" tall. I layered them on really rust and distressed the top and bottom then sponged w/choc chip ink. I added faux stitching to the dps. Alot of work but I love how it looks! I also added some ribbon from Joanns the color is natural and is a pretty close match to creamy caramel. For the main image I stamped the cowgirl on very vanilla I colored everything except the dress and arm w/my prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. I paper pieced the dress and sponged. I added hemp to the rope in the image. Boy that was NOT easy!LOL! I dont have small hands! Thank goodness for my Sakura glue pen. I stamped her arm again and colored it to pop up on the rope. I layered the image choc chip and then sage shadow. To finish off my card I punched a star from the dp and popped it up on the corner of my image.

Not so Fabulous!
I was sure ready to stamp this morning! Its been a week! Well needless to say I should have waited another day!LOL! I am not at all happy w/my card this morning and thats usually the way it goes for me after its been a few days of not stamping. I stamped the tres chic background on basic gray tone on tone. Todays challenge was to used your ink pad and ink up the negative side of the cb folder. I used the swirls folder and old olive ink. I wanted to try the chalkboard technique again and I thought the bold flower image from fabulous flower would work great for the technique. I stamped the flower image in craft white ink and used my sponge daubers to apply the ballet blue chalk.
Have a great day and I'll be back tommorrow with a better card!

Funky Inspiration Colors
Thank goodness I made another card yesterday so I have something to share w/you today! Beate posted an inspiration challenge on her blog yesterday and I decided to play along. I pulled the colors and flowers from the inspiration. Click on Beate's blog link on the sidebar Fresh and fun.
I've been wanting to try Chat's doodle this flowers and the inspiration piece was a perfect time to do it! I just stamped the large flower from doodle this on pink passion, purely pomegrante, wild wasabi, and tempting turquiose with pallette noir ink. I went over the doodles with my white gel pen. I cut the flower out and used my bones folder to curl the petals. I put a dimensional on the backside of the flower and curled the petals under and attached them to the dimensional. I added some bling to the front of the flower also. I used Jen's sfytt for my layout and used my 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle and square punches. I used the doodle jumbo wheel on all the layers except the black layer.
Hope you have a great day!

Wild Saffron Blossoms
Todays colors challenge was so saffron, wild wasabi, and purely pomegrante so of course I had to do flowers!LOL! My secret lil sis emailed me the other day and in the email she was talking about flowers and said she loved yellow flowers so I made this card for her for her reveal package.
The pop is some of my fave dps. I used the level 1 hostess pack that has wild wasabi the other colors in it are real red, bashful blue, and pretty in pink. I also used some so saffron. The stamp set I used is a retired stamp set I think it was a level 2 hostess set Both way blossoms. I watercolored the flowers and stems-something I havent done in a while. I used Julies mojo Monday sketch 27 for my layout. The sentiment stamp is from PTI in the faux ribbon set. I love all the small sentiments in that set. I had to add kraft into the color combo mainly b/c I didnt have any ribbon in any of the other colors that I thought fit the theme of the card but I have this kraft taffeta ribbon and it seemed to fit better. Hope you have a great day! We are supposed to have some severe weather here today and I hate bad weather! Our land is soooo unlevel that our house is 5 1/2 feet off the ground on one end to have the house level. It touches my shoulder! LOL! Anyway when there is alot of wind it terrifies me!

Chalkboard Essence
I was up for a little challenge last night so I decided to pull one of my new SU sets that have yet to see ink out and give them some love!LOL! I knew I wanted to use Beate wsc37 so I went to the color combo website and hit surprise me. It gave me choc chip, cranberry crisp, taken w/teal, black, and basic gray. Wow! This is what I came up with. I wanted to try a new technique so I went browsing through and saw Beate's tutorial on the chalkboard technique and since you use dark cs it was perfect for the colors! Yippee!LOL!
I love how this card turned out and I stuck w/my challenge except for omitting choc chip from the colors. I love the chalkboard technique and I will be trying it again! So my challenge to you is what I did pick a set and a layout( a SCS sc or a bloggers sc) and find a technique you havent tried then go to the color combo website and hit surprise me and use it! No cheating now!LOL! Heres the link for the color combo website if you dont already have it! http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo/

What my hubby did at work
Fs56 Amazing Case
Today's featured stamper is Mary aka Petal Pusher. I cased her Solitude of stamping card and changed everything except the layout and theme of the card. I also added faux stitching and some bling (of course!)
I love how my card turned out this morning! I colored the bird and butterfly w/prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. I love the color combo-groovy guava, cool carribean, wild wasabi, choc chip. I stamped the flower from pretty amazing in cool carribean 2x and popped up the center of the flower and added bling. Today is the first time I've used my jumbo eyelets and they were the reason I decided to case the card since I have several packs of MM jumbo eyelets I've yet to use!LOL!
Have a great day!
