Babies Galore

After seeing all the wonderful baby cards this weekend baby was on the brain when I saw todays color challenge. Is everyone pregnant?!!LOL! My step sister had a baby this weekend and I think there were annoucements on several blogs I visit that they were expecting! So with baby on the brain I pulled out this retired SU set. I colored the bunny image with copics and prismacolor pencils. I also added some polka dots on the bunnys feet using the colorless blender and embossed the polka dots on the lavender lace layer to match. Im still stuck on using the nesties and sponging. Todays was the first time Ive used SU ink since I didnt have a color to match in chalk ink. I also used Jens sfytt for my layout.

Stamps: A new little someone, polka dot background-SU
Paper: white, barely banana, going gray, lavender lace,
Ink: memento black, barely banana, lavender lace, white craft, copics c1, c3, c5, y00, y11, bv00, bv02, colorless blender

Dustin Pike

Im behind on all my baby cards I need so when I saw this super adorable Dustin Pike image I knew I wanted to use it for a boy card. I pulled this star Crate dp I think this is the Cowboy line. I LOVE Crate dp!! I decided to give my copics a break and dust off my primsacolor pencils and use them. Well obviously Ive forgotten how to color with them!!LOL!! I outlined the image using warm gray no.1 copic and cut and embossed the image using circle nesties. I did add a little sparkle to the star but since this is a baby boy card I didnt want alot of embellies. Ive had these buttons forever so I decided to use them. I also added some paper piercing to the orange strip. What do you think?!? Are they too big?! I feel like the card is kinda plain but the buttons seem to stick out like a sore thumb to me!LOL! My Moms ALWAYS fussin at me telling me Im too hard on myself which she will probably say in her comment on this card!LOL! Have a great day!!

Raggedy Anns horse

Since Alanas napping I decided to get a little more stamp time in so I made another card for todays sketch. I used H & M's new stamp set Generation of stitches. I love this set! This image reminds me of Raggedy Ann and Andys horse! I have a boy and girl card for you today. For the boy card I used todays sketch and MME dp. I colored the horse using Julees no copics no problem technique. For the girl card I used KI memories sweet and sassy stitches and colored the horse using Su markers blended with alcohol on Pti white. I definetly like the other coloring technique more. The layout for my girl card is a sketch challenge from a couple of weeks ago but right now I cant find where!LOL! I added buttons as embellishment on both cards b/c I cant NOT put buttons for some reason using this set!LOL!

Dont forget about the H & M shipping special! Hop on over and check it out! Have a great day! Oh and for some reason that I cant explain Ive tried to rename this stamp set in my head!! So if you see where I address this stamp set as Everyday stitches you know what Im talking about! I had to go back yesterday morning in my haste and correct it here and on SCS!LOL!

Generation of stitches

Im updating my blog from the hospital with Mama's laptop. Its good to have connections at the hospital!LOL!

Todays color challenge is to create a card using a monochromatic color combo. This was a perfect challenge for this super cute new set from H & M. I love this Generation of stitches set. This is a great baby set! I pulled out my summer sun textured cs and bazzill yellow, I added kraft and ga pacific white for my neutrals. I used copic markers to color my image then outlined with cool gray no.1. I used an old sketch challenge from Beates blog for my layout. I added 2 silver brads and yellow grosgrain ribbon for my embellies. Dontcha just love that sentiment..."you've gotten the cutest little..." Heather has designed this set so you can add...button nose, baby bottom, or baby face. So cute! It also has lots of family sentiments like Mother, father, grand, etc.

Please keep Alana in your thoughts and prayers. I will be back later with an update on her! Have a great day and dont forget about Heathers free shipping!!! If you like this image and would like to see the entire set click here

Featured stamper Sunday

Well its Sunday and you know what that means!! Another featured stamper gallery to browse through and case. Todays featured stamper is Maren (mmbc). I loved the layout on the card I cased I know big surprise right!LOL! I looked back through my fs cards and most of them start out with the layout was the reason I picked the card!LOL!

My cousin just found out she is expecting her first baby so I knew I needed a baby card and as soon as I saw Marens Its a boy card with the awesome layout I knew it would be perfect for my Bella! I colored this Bella Monday and Im finally putting it on a card. The things I changed were :

-the colors: I love this color combo! Very girly! Can you guess what Im wanting the baby to be!LOL!

-ribbons: I used 1/4" grosgrain instead of wide ribbon

-stamps: I used Bella ( I forget the name), polka dot background, and circle of friendship for my sentiment.

-circles: I decided to layer my circles instead of spacing them apart.

-embellies: I used buttons instead of brads and added some stickles to the bears bow, rattle, and Bella's bow on her shirt.

-faux stitching: I added the faux stitching to the polka dot layer

-layer: I matted my main image

-coloring medium: Maren colored her image using copics. I colored mine using prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol.

I think thats it! This week was very busy but the kids had a great time at VBS. We also went to catch the reading bug and they had a magic show (Ken Scott) for the kids and it was so cute! They loved it! Have a great day!

Wild about flaps

I challenged myself to use bold stamps this week. NO COLORING! So far so good! 2 days of no colored images! I made this card for todays color challenge. The colors are soft sky, basic gray and whisper white. I used PTI white instead and added going gray. I knew when I saw the colors I wanted to use my much neglected wild about you set! Laurief's card yesterday was so cute and I wanted to use her card as my inspiration. I stamped the elephant twice one in going gray and once in soft sky on the soft sky image I used my going gray to add a rock and rolled look for the ear. I cut the elephant and ear out and popped up the ear. I layered the ellie on circle punches and then the scallop punch. I decided to leave the flap sq today instead of rounding it and pierced along the edge. I also added soft sky double stitched ribbon. The going gray layer is stamped with the polka dot background inked in basic gray. I used the circle punches again for the sentiment. I stamped the wild about you on PTI white inked in soft sky. Easy card!
Okay funny story to share. You know with 3 kids its never a dull moment!LOL! I know my story is one of those you had to be there kinda things and you would have to know Alana and some of her cute looks!LOL! Yesterday after we got home from school and we were going through bookbags, homework folders, etc. Alana pulls this paper out and starts reading it and it was something about Disney so I asked her what it was. She said I dont know it says American Red cross and its at the baptist church so of course she wants to go. The child has no idea what it is she just knows it says Disney so of course she wants to go. I said uh-huh. She flips it over and reads again Please give and then she come to me and asks me what the word is as shes souding it out. I said blood. Blood she says why? So I told her they take blood from you and give it to people who need that are hurt or sick. Well how to they take it?she asks. Okay now Im thinking how to I put this! So I tell her its like when you get a shot they use the needle to get blood. Her eyes get really big and she puts her pointer finger up and wiggles it back and forth (in a no no motion) and says oh no I dont want wanna do that. Okay so it may not sound that funny to you but Im here in tears laughing so hard trying to type this b/c it was the look on her face that just made it! So cute! Bet she doesnt care what the Disney stuff is now!LOL!! Have a great day!

Baby Flap

I know you are probably saying HUH!?! from that title.!LOL! Yesterdays technique challenge was to make a flap card. They are super easy to make and super cute! I decided to make Michele a baby card since her shower is this weekend and I havent even made one yet! I used a plate to make my rounded edge on the flap and stamped it tone tone with the stars from background basics. I also used Hollys easy peasy bow. The scalloped image is from So many scallops(SAB). Isnt it cute!?!? Its the first time Ive used it. I wanted to keep the colors simple so I just used white and bashful blue and I used the bashful blue pop (level 1 hostess). I added faux stitching to the pop layer. All edges are distressed and sponged with craft white ink. Now yesterday as I was sponging my phone would NOT stop ringing! I got craft ink all over my hands!LOL! Well the phone calls coming in were for work so I had to hurry and finish my card and get out the door with craft ink on my hands!LOL! Oh well who cares I was working w/4 yr olds. Well as we were eating supper last night my Mom looks over and says who wrote on you w/a marker? I had blue expo marker marks all on my shoulder! Guess the white craft ink wasnt so bad after all!LOL!
