ESS Daisies

If you visit my blog often you know I tend to do more cutesy cards. Im not too big on flowers except daisies! I love this set from Flourishes Gerbera Daisy. I also finally got my hands on some BG Origins dp with I think goes perfect for daisies. Of course the daisy image is colored with copics and sponged with antique linen. I also added some chocolate pearls to the image. I used Tracy's ESS sketch for my layout which I think was also perfect for this image. I just love when my cards fall together so easily!LOL! Im really happy with how this turned out! I even pulled out some SU garden green cs! I cant tell you how long its been since I used that color!LOL!! I also paired the dp with SU chocolate chip and crushed curry. I even finished the inside of this card mainly because I knew the occassion I wanted to use it for. Im bad about not stamping a sentiment on card so I can have it if I need a last minute card.
I hope all you Mothers had a great day yesterday!! I spent the day with my Mom, sis, and 3 kiddos. I have made the mistake of teaching my kids how to play Skip-Bo and now thats all they want to do!LOL!! Have a great one!

Fabulous Fall flower

Im so glad its Monday! How many times have you heard that??! Kids are back in school, Fay is outta here, and I have a stamp class tonight! The class was supposed to be on Friday but we had to cancel due to the weather.
I have a triple challenge card for you this morning. I used the color challenge from OCC. Beate is back with her sketch challenge so of course I had to do it and todays technique challenge is dry embossing with craft white ink. For my main image I stamped the flower 2x in pumpkin pie and 2x in rose red. I cut out and layered the flower alternating colors. I added a jumbo eyelet and rhinestone brad to the top layer of the flower. I have a really hard time with this flower for some reason. ESPECIALLY when it comes to cutting it out!
I have some pics to share later today of Madison on her 6th bday! Have a great day!

Petal Friendship Case

Todays featured stamper is Jessie aka knightrone. Jessie is a super stamper with a fabulous gallery. Featured stamper challenge is one of my faves. I like browsing through their gallery and seeing a card that will make me get out an image/set that I havent used in awhile or not at all. While looking through Jessies gallery I came across her petal friendship card. I had to case it! Pick a petal was one of the sets I ordered out of the preview from last years catalog. I think Ive actually used it twice. I inked up the polka dot petal in brilliant blue. I stamped the petal onto whisper white stamping with the corner of the petal off the cs. I stamped the doodled image in stazon over the polka dot petals. I stamped the flower center in black stazon then the doodled center in craft white. I added stardust stickles to the polka dots. The flower image is matted on black. I stamped the polka dot background on brilliant blue in craft white. For my sentiment I pulled out PTI's faux ribbon. My fave set for small sentiments. I stamped the wishing you well on ww. I added the silver HH and MM rhinestone brads. I went digging through my ribbon stash and found this blue polka dot ribbon from Joanns. After I assembled the card I added the black dots to the ww panel under the ribbon, under the sentiment, and the corner. There was just way too much white going on for me!LOL!

Well Im family reunioned out today! We went to my family reunion yesterday and Dannys today. They are always on the same weekend so its usually a busy weekend for us. Now its race time!

Wild Groovy Vervesary

Todays color challenge is an easy one. Farewell in colors. Choose any in colors and neutrals just no other other colors. I chose to use my faves groovy guava and wild wasabi. I *heart* wild wasabi!LOL! I hate to see it go! I combined todays color challenge with Verve sketch challenge and it fit perfectly for Lauries challenge on Meet the Divas. So here is my triple challenge card for you today!

I knew I wanted to use my verve sentiment so I decided to go floral today. I pulled out this image from Garden Silhouettes that I just cut out this morning!LOL! I used reinkers and fantastix to ink up my image. I used pallette of prints in guava and wasabi. I have to use up some of my stash so I can get the new prints that are coming from the new catty! I also used fiskars treading water punch and added MM eyelets that are a perfect match for wasabi. I havent made a tall card in awhile and I love making them I just hate taking pics of them b/c I have a hard time. This card didnt photograph well b/c its heavy. I added dimensionals under the wasabi/white layer. Then I added dimensionals under the main image and sentiment.

We went to cheerleading and football yesterday and Alana came home with a busted lip and Brayden got a knot on the forehead. Great start huh?!?!LOL! Even with that they had a blast. Yesterday was just an evaluation and drills. They will all drive me crazy b/c practices dont start until Aug 26 thats 3 weeks that I get hear "Are we going to cheerleading/football today?" Yayyy fun for me! Have a great day!

HM color silhouettes

So many challenges so little time!LOL! Heres a combo challenge card for you today. Heather Rolin (hlr976) hosts a sketch challenge every Saturday well last week she decided to throw in a color challenge too. You can combine and do both in one card or you can make two seperate cards or you can do one or the other...so many choices! For this card I chose to use the colors. How yummy are they?!?! Pretty in pink, choc chip, blue bayou, old olive and vanilla! I combined the colors with Joans dirty silhouette challenge. I had to use SU images since Mama has all my H & M stamps! Bad Mama!LOL! I used Garden silhouettes since the challenge was silhouettes how fitting!?!LOL! I have only mounted one image from this set so I challenged myself to ink up one of the other images. Im oh so terrible with flowers names etc so I have no idea what this image is supposed to be.
I started with a pretty in pink textured card base. Im so addicted to textured cs right now! Cant get enough of it! My next layer is old olive stamped tone on tone with french script then linen in choc chip. My blue bayou layer is stamped tone on tone with the silhouette image. For my main image I stamped the silhouette first in choc chip then blue bayou stamped off once then old olive stamped off twice. I really love how it turned out! Now Im wide ribbon challenged but I had this choc chip ribbon out and was determined to use it! It covers up part of my image but I think it looks fine. I punched out two butterfly with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch and popped them up. To finish off my card I added two silver brads to the left of my image. I love how this card turned out! I even stamped the inside! I have gotten bad the past couple of days and have not been doing that so I made myself tonight. I left off a sentiment for now since this card could be used for several different occasions.
Be back later with more challenge cards!

Rockin Vanilla Blossoms

I finally got a morning to stamp! Yayy! I have a triple challenge card here today. I used todays sketch challenge, Cc176, and Christines dirty challenge to watercolor.

I love todays sketch! Because I wanted to do a triple challenge I knew I was going to use soft sky, vanilla, and river rock. I also had to find an image that I could watercolor. I thought the colors would make a great elegant card so of course I had to go with flowers. Both way blossoms is still one of my fave flower images to watercolor. I used SU watercolor paper and reinkers to color the flowers. I chose the pattern I love from the prints pack for elegant cards in both soft sky and river rock. I added a vanilla bow to my image and 3 pearl brads. Not a whole lot going on because I think elegant cards should be more simplified. Be back later today with more dirty challenge creations!

Almost Wild Flying Saffron Stars

Happy Tuesday! Today is a great day! Its Braydens bday! He is 5 yrs old today! Happy Birthday Buddy!

We had a fabulous time this weekend at the retreat! Faith and her husband really did an awesome job! Big thanks to the both of them! Im on inspiration overload!LOL! On our way to the retreat we just had to stop in Valdosta for some shopping. I got this super cute Penny black flying stars stamp. I couldnt believe they actually had Penny black stamps! Our HL never has anything!LOL! What was even better is I had a 40% off coupon. Gotta love that!
Todays color challenge is so saffron, almost amethyst, and wild wasabi. I stamped the image on pti white with pallette noir and colored with SU markers. Faith made me realize how much Ive neglected my SU markers and I also remebered seeing on someones blog if you went over the celery 3 times it was wild wasabi. I used Hollys easy peasy ribbon and dew drops for embellishments. Todays card is a simple and quick card b/c we're off to spend the day celebrating with my little man! Have a great day!

Amazing sf9erfan

Todays featured stamper is Michelle sf9erfan. Michelle has an amazing gallery and I was very excited to case one of her cards. I kept the layout on Michelle's card but changed the stamp and colors.
I love this color combo! Amy pickletree made a card a few weeks ago using it and its been on my to-stamp list.
Ive been on a so saffron kick lately I dont know why! But here it is again today!LOL! I started with a perfect plum base -when I first started stamping my fave color combo was pale and perfect plum but I havent used either in a long time! I stamped the pretty petals background on textured guava tone on tone. For my main image panel I stamped the flower in perfect plum and added some bling. I decided this time not to cut the flower and pop it up since I was popping up the prismacolored bird. I used my Fiskars circle cutter to cut out a 2" and 2 1/2" circle to layer on the scallop punch. The saffron layer is paper pierced and I added faux stitching with the perfect plum marker. The saffron layer is matted on guava and then on plum. To finish off my card I added the guava double stitched ribbon and bow.

Have a great day!

Garden Harmony

Todays ways to use it challenge was snip, snip! Scissors! Okay you all know I hate cutting!LOL! I colored this flower the other night so I decided to use it for todays challenge since it defintely involves cutting. I kept the layout pretty simple since I love this flower so much! I used a sentiment from Happy Harmony.

Recipe:
Stamps: From the garden, Happy Harmony
Paper: really rust, groovy guava, blush blossom, always artichoke, PTI white
Ink: really rust, pallette noir
Other: theatre ribbon originals, circle punches, dimensionals, prismacolor pencils, gamsol

French Bloomin Amethyst

I found out last night my camera does not like yellow! I tried 15 different pics and they all looked yellow! I even tried again this morning so Im actually not sure if its my camera or the photo box thats making my pic look yellow.

Anywhooo...I love todays sketch! Danny and I were watching a movie last night so I pulled out a few stamped images that needed coloring. This flower was one of them. Since we were up late I decided to take a peek and see if the challenge was loaded and it was! Yayyy! I colored the flower with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. I wanted a softer look and feel to my flower so as I blended I went outside the image. Ive had this thearte ribbon for awhile now and I think this is only the 2nd time Ive used this artichoke ribbon but I thought it would go great with this card.

Have a great day!

Bali Breeze Friend

Im so proud of myself!! Have you noticed Ive actually been using my dp!! YAAYYY for me!! I have this bad habit of buying dp I love it! The colors and designs! Its one of my fave things about cards!! Its just when it comes to using it I get stumped! I even used 2 different pieces on todays card!

I love todays sketch and I'll be making another card later using it. Its a great sketch to use some great dp on! I love the colors in the bali breeze dp! I paired it with true friend. Ive had this set since it came out and only had one image in the set mounted and I think I actually only stamped it once! Bad little stamper!LOL! I used my markers(rose red, old olive, & pumpkin pie) to ink up my flower. The flower image is layered on rose red and taken with teal. The horizontal strip is old olive layered w/teal. I used the pumpkin pie striped ribbon its one of my faves right now! I faux stitched the two layers together and used my white gel pen. I added a clear bauble to the center of my flower and 3 pomegrante baubles to the top right.

We had a field trip today. Brayden's class went to the strawberry patch ( a different one than Madison went to). We picked some yummy strawberries and ate some yummy ice cream! I bought a bottle of strawberry dressing. Ive never even heard of it but it sounded good! The lady said it was similar to raspberry vinagarette but with a strawberry flavor. 25 days of school left!!! YAAYYY!!! They are about to kill me!LOL! I have the girls field day tommorrow so it will be late afternoon again before I post. Have a great day!!

Good Karma Garden

Todays featured stamper is Jodi aka Kharmagirl on SCS. Jodi has an amazing gallery!! I loved the layout and HH on her card and it didnt hurt that she mentioned Bon Jovi in her post!LOL! I colored this image this morning hoping I could use it for todays challenge and I did! I colored the flower w/markers and blended w/alcohol. My leaves turned out much better than my petals for some reason. This flower is so much fun to color I will try one w/my prismacolor pencils tommorrow.

Sorry for the short post but I worked at a local pub that I worked at years ago (before children) last night for some extra $$$$ and we had a band and didnt get off until 2 am and I worked tonight and Im just getting off so Im heading to my soft comfy bed!LOL! Be back tommorrow w/more deets on the card!

Morning Glory

I was not happy at all with my card on Monday so when I saw the color challenge(kraft, orchid opulence, and sage shadow) I knew I wanted to keep it simple. I made this over at Mama's so I had to use her new set that I dont have yet. Its called Morning Soft and includes this beautiful flower image and sentiment. I have been wanting to try coloring w/my prismacolor pencils on kraft paper so the color challenge was a perfect time to do it! I added crystal stickles to the flowers and leaves after coloring. I matted the main image on sage shadow. The orchid opulence layer is stamped with fine lace tone on tone and adhered to the kraft 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 card base. I kept the embellishments limited too but using the kraft taffeta ribbon and a ribbon slider (that I swiped from Mama!LOL) I love this image so you will be seeing it again. It was fun to color and you know Im all about the coloring. Tommorrow I actually have a card to share w/no coloring!*GASP*!

I also wanted to share with you this pic from the beach. We went to the state park while at the beach for Danny and his Dad to fish I think its called St. Andrews. As we were leaving we saw these two deer so of course we had to stop and take a pic. They just kept eating but they were right beside the road so the kids could see them up close and they loved it. Madison saw them and said "Bambi!!"LOL! Gotta love Disney!

Not so Fabulous!

We're back from the beach! We had a great time but Brayden got sick Sat night so he had to ride home with a bucket in his lap for 4 hrs. My poor baby!

I was sure ready to stamp this morning! Its been a week! Well needless to say I should have waited another day!LOL! I am not at all happy w/my card this morning and thats usually the way it goes for me after its been a few days of not stamping. I stamped the tres chic background on basic gray tone on tone. Todays challenge was to used your ink pad and ink up the negative side of the cb folder. I used the swirls folder and old olive ink. I wanted to try the chalkboard technique again and I thought the bold flower image from fabulous flower would work great for the technique. I stamped the flower image in craft white ink and used my sponge daubers to apply the ballet blue chalk.

Have a great day and I'll be back tommorrow with a better card!

Monday, March 10, 2008

Well this has been a crazy morning already!LOL! Right in the middle of making my card I got a call for a job so I rushed to finish my card and get it posted. I got the card posted on SCS and about that time the phone rang and they didnt need me. Great!LOL! All that rushing for nothing!
Sorry I havent posted in the past few days but last week kicked my tail!LOL! This morning isnt much better. How fast did this weekend go by!?!?! I hate the time change b/c we have to leave the house at 7:15 for the kids to get on the bus at 7:20 and its still very dark this time of year. Okay on to the card...
Todays challenge is something Ive never heard of before but I decided to give it a go. Faux cloisonne' is the technique today you stamp an open image onto a glossy magazine page and emboss in gold. I found a surefit slipcover ad and used it. I pulled the colors from the couch for my card. I used so saffron, mellow moss, choc chip, cranberry crisp. I rarely use gold so I tried to used a few gold embellies on my card. I dont know why I rarely use gold I guess Im just a silver kinda girl. I think I own like 2 pieces of gold jewerly and one is a ring of my grandmothers that is about 100 yrs old now.
I love the sentiments in Happy harmony from last years SAB they are some of my faves so I used one today on my card. The fonts match elegant greetings and well worn words so I went w/well worn words on my so saffron and cranberry layers. I know Im jumping all over the place here!LOL! Be back tommorrow w/a better train of thought!LOL!

Funky Inspiration Colors

Sorry for the late post today but I had to work today and had bus duty at 7:15 this morning(have I said before that Im not a morning personLOL!)

Thank goodness I made another card yesterday so I have something to share w/you today! Beate posted an inspiration challenge on her blog yesterday and I decided to play along. I pulled the colors and flowers from the inspiration. Click on Beate's blog link on the sidebar Fresh and fun.

I've been wanting to try Chat's doodle this flowers and the inspiration piece was a perfect time to do it! I just stamped the large flower from doodle this on pink passion, purely pomegrante, wild wasabi, and tempting turquiose with pallette noir ink. I went over the doodles with my white gel pen. I cut the flower out and used my bones folder to curl the petals. I put a dimensional on the backside of the flower and curled the petals under and attached them to the dimensional. I added some bling to the front of the flower also. I used Jen's sfytt for my layout and used my 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle and square punches. I used the doodle jumbo wheel on all the layers except the black layer.

Hope you have a great day!

Wild Saffron Blossoms

Todays colors challenge was so saffron, wild wasabi, and purely pomegrante so of course I had to do flowers!LOL! My secret lil sis emailed me the other day and in the email she was talking about flowers and said she loved yellow flowers so I made this card for her for her reveal package.

The pop is some of my fave dps. I used the level 1 hostess pack that has wild wasabi the other colors in it are real red, bashful blue, and pretty in pink. I also used some so saffron. The stamp set I used is a retired stamp set I think it was a level 2 hostess set Both way blossoms. I watercolored the flowers and stems-something I havent done in a while. I used Julies mojo Monday sketch 27 for my layout. The sentiment stamp is from PTI in the faux ribbon set. I love all the small sentiments in that set. I had to add kraft into the color combo mainly b/c I didnt have any ribbon in any of the other colors that I thought fit the theme of the card but I have this kraft taffeta ribbon and it seemed to fit better. Hope you have a great day! We are supposed to have some severe weather here today and I hate bad weather! Our land is soooo unlevel that our house is 5 1/2 feet off the ground on one end to have the house level. It touches my shoulder! LOL! Anyway when there is alot of wind it terrifies me!

Fs56 Amazing Case

Today's featured stamper is Mary aka Petal Pusher. I cased her Solitude of stamping card and changed everything except the layout and theme of the card. I also added faux stitching and some bling (of course!)

I love how my card turned out this morning! I colored the bird and butterfly w/prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. I love the color combo-groovy guava, cool carribean, wild wasabi, choc chip. I stamped the flower from pretty amazing in cool carribean 2x and popped up the center of the flower and added bling. Today is the first time I've used my jumbo eyelets and they were the reason I decided to case the card since I have several packs of MM jumbo eyelets I've yet to use!LOL!

Have a great day!

cc155 Black Rock Silhouettes

Todays colors challenge was difficult for me since it was supposed to be a elegant color challenge. Well yall know I cant do elegant!LOL! This was what I came up with.
Todays colors were river rock, basic black, and white. I used PTI white for my card base and image. My river rock layer is stamped w/french script in black and sanded w/river rock. My main image is stamped w/sanded in river rock and garden silhouettes in black stazon. For embelishments I added the double stitched grograin ribbon in river rock a black quickutz photo corner with white stitches rub-ons and 3 black brads. Pretty simple card today.
We have a field trip today so Im off to get ready! Have a great day!

Amazing technique

Wow has it really been 11 days since my last post! Last week is a blur to me! My hubby and I celebrated our 6th anniversary on Feb. 2. Feb. 3 brought heartache. A special friend of mine passed away Sunday and its been alot to deal with. I spent most of the last week with the family. They are like my 2nd family and losing Dale was hard on everyone. It would take 2 days to tell you about this past week but Dale was loved and will certainly be missed.
I told my hubby last night how long it had been since I stamped and I was determined to get the kids off to school today and have some good ole fashioned stamping therapy! Todays technique challenge is one I havent tried yet and to be honest its one I didnt want to try but Im glad I did. I actually really like the results of my ink, spray, & smash layer. Im bad about not doing challenges on something I think I wouldnt like to try but Im trying to change that! I got some new goodies 2 weeks ago and havent been able to ink them up so todays challenge was perfect! I used my new Amazing set and pretty petals background for my card. The colors I used were lavender lace, apricot appeal, and certainly celery. I used Beate wsc34 for my layout. Have a great day!
