cc183 Wally Walrus

Todays color challenge is the first one using the new in colors. Emily picked green galore, going gray, and riding hood red. It took me a little time to find an image I wanted to use this morning. I knew I didnt want to do a Christmas card! Its too early for that for me! So my first thought was frogs or turtles b/c of the green. I didnt have any that I thought would work so I went digging through my PIF images and came across Wally Walrus. Thanks Collette!! He was perfect. So the next thing I had to do was find a sentiment small enough to fit in his little sign. I grabbed PTI's faux ribbon. Okay I have a confession....Ive had this faux ribbon set since it was released and all I've used out of it is the sentiments(and they have had plenty of love!)! Ive never tried to use the stripe images for dp or ribbon!LOL! Since I didnt have any dp to match the colors today I decided I would make my own! Next time I wont space my lines as far apart as I did today but Im pretty pleased with my results. Okay I have another confession....I have this thing with using primas with animals unless it has a flower image! I cant do it! It just never looks right to me!LOL! I see some really cute cards on SCS using cutesy or animal images with primas and I really like them but when I'M doing it its another story!LOL! Ive had this bag of primas so long I dont remeber where they came from! I think I've used 2 out of the pack but I found 2 that matched riding hood red! Yayyy! For my layout I used one of Kirstens old sketches but made a few changes. I colored Wally using gamsol magic. I added white gel pen dots to his face and outlined him with silver gelly roll pen but its hard to see in the pic so I attached a close up view.

Dont forget about the blog candy on the post below! I will let one of the kids draw a name on Saturday! Have a great day!!

Petey sending sparkling smiles

Today brings us another fun sketch from Rox! The only thing I didnt like about todays sketch was I couldnt figure out where ribbon would fit in so I just left it off. I like the layout and will probably try it again later with a floral image.
For this card I pulled out Petey. Hes so adorable! He was begging to be played with since I got this KI Memories Simple stripes dp from HL a few weeks ago. It is so fun and bright! Petey is colored using gamsol magic technique. I outlined the image and the lines on the ice block with Copic cool gray no.1. I added diamond stickles to the fish in the glass, the puddle of water, and the lines on the ice block. The sentiment is another one from Verve visual. For embellishments I added clear dew drops. Im not sure who I will give this to yet but it will probably be a young girl since I used pinks/purples.
Today is the last day of summer for us *Boo* *Hoo**!! Danny and I were talking last night about Brayden. Tommorrow will be his first day of Kindergarten. My baby is growing up sooo fast. We went to my Moms last night and had a great time. Jessie and Danny took the kids fishing while me and Mama looked at the new SU catty!!! Great night!LOL! And.....I finally got my order so now I finally have the new in colors! So yummy!!!! BTW Alana outfished her Daddy last night and I had to tell everyone!LOL! I couldnt believe they were able to catch anything since it was so hot yesterday I think the temp was 99 and heat index was 110! Alana caught a 6 lb and a 4 lb catfish. Dannys catfish weight 3 1/2 lbs so he was thrown back! Ha!Ha! Alana was so cute she had to talk to Pepa (my Dad) and tell him how she caught the fish! She reminds me so much of me as a little girl. I used to love to go fishing with my Dad I even had my own little pole like Alana does. I remeber for Christmas when I was 12 or 13 I got my first "grown up" fishing pole. Of course Alana fishes just like her Mama I dont take the fish off the hook thats the Daddy's job!LOL! Have a great day!

Ladybug Playground

Sorry no post yesterday I was having computer issues! This is the card I made for yesterdays limited supply challenge. Our challenge was to use brads on your stamped image and use brads as your only embellishement so ignore the ribbon on my card!LOL! I need to make sure next time I read ALL the restrictions!
I pulled out my Inky Antics ladybug cottage for this challenge. I colored the image with primsacolor pencils and added black brads to the spots on the top of the mushroom. My sentiment is from Verve Visual. After making this card I realized it would go cute with the ladybug playground I bought Madison. They are really cute and only cost $3 at Walmart(toy section) and they have a ladybug coloring book for $0.99. A great little gift set for a little ladybug lover!
Recipe:
Stamps: ladybug cottage, polka dot background, verve visual sentiment
Paper: wild wasabi, black, yo yo yellow, pti white, real red
Ink: pallette noir
Other: black brads, prismacolor pencils, gamsol, ribbon
Have a great day!
