Popcorn bear

When I saw Caroles food challenge for the dirty dares I knew I wanted to use this popcorn bear from Rubbernecker. I also knew I wanted to include popcorn so Tracys in the bag challenge was perfect. Now I have a confession...Im box challenged. As long as I have a template Im fine but to sit down with something and make a box for it...uh No!LOL! So I had to call my stamping partner in crime Mom to help me out with this one!LOL! The box holds two mini bags of popcorn. I decided this would also be a good image for Kims paper tole challenge since he's hanging out of the bag. So I stamped 3 images. First I popped up his arms and the pieces of popcorn on the sides and bottom of the bag. Then I popped up his head then the popcorn on top of his head so he looks like hes really poppin out at you!LOL! Since popcorn is written on the side of the bag I thought it would work for Lauras ABC challenge. Yes, I know its a stretch but I am actually very limited on sentiments just ask my Mom I steal hers all the time!LOL! Amys challenge is animals and since my image has an adorable bear he works for it too. Since the image is so big I just used a couple of brads and ribbon to finish off my box. Before I give this to someone I might replace one of the packs of popcorn with a movie and it can be a movie night gift.

Stamps: Popcorn bear
Paper: summer sun, black, white
Ink: memento black, copics e35, e37, e39(bear), r27, r29, r24(red stripes), c1, c3(shadows), yr23, y17, y36(popcorn)
Accessories: real red striped ribbon, dimensionals, silver brads, red line tape, 1/2" circle punch

Happiest Hour Heidi

I have another dirty dare combo card for you today. For this card I started with Joannes happiest hour challenge which was an inspiration piece with lots of fun summery colors. I jotted down the colors and went through my dp stash. I have several different ways I organize my dp but what I do with my dp I usually pick up by the sheets at HL or Michaels is seperate them by colors if it has several colors I usually try to put it in with the one Im mostly like to use. This piece of dp it was in pink since there are two shades of pink. So now since I had my colors and Cindys sketch picked out I had to figure out which image I wanted to use and I still had all my new CC design images on my desk and this Heidi image just somehow jumped onto the stamp pad!LOL!! Isnt she a cutie?! I colored her using copics and Im so proud I actually colored her hair blonde! I usually stick with brunettes since I seem to do better with the browns. I added some white gel pen highlights and stickles to her wings. Since this little cutie has wings it also falls under Bonnies flap your wings challenge. After I sponged around the nesties I thought the card still needed something so I decided to take Bev sewing challenge and try to sew around my circle. Now I just really started trying to sew on my cards. I think Ive only done it 2 or 3 times and I tried to tackle sewing in a circle this morning. Wayyyy too early!LOL!! So to cover up the worst of my sewing I added some bridal flowers I colored with copics to match the dp.
Mama and I are counting down the days until CHA!! Hope to see lots of you there!!

PB Carolers Gettin dirty

Do I have a mega combo card for you today!LOL! It all started with the featured stamper challenge. I found this and remebered I had my Moms PB carolers image. Since the carolers are singing and I could use it for Deb's music challenge. Well chickens have wings so that took care of Bonnies wing challenge. Then I thought I could color my chickens yellow and use Hollys color challenge. Since bashful blue is in the combo that also took care of Jami's blue embellies challenge. When I use chicken images I cant resist using my chicken wire background or weathered background. For this card I decided to use both which took care of Bettys dp by me challenge...Are you dizzy yet?!?!LOL! As I was cutting my card base I realized my blade was dull so I decided to distress the edges...you guessed it..another challenge..Deborah's challenge is texture. Now you would think with all this falling into place my card would have been perfect! Not so much!! First as I was coloring my image I realized I had to add some blue in so I decided to use it for shadows which turned out alot darker than I wanted. As I was inking up my weathered background stamp I realized something is wrong w/my real red pad. It got everywhere and I mean everywhere!! You may notice on my pic a couple of red fingers prints and it got on my ribbon as I was tying it! I started not to post it but decided maybe you could ignore the blue shadow and red finger prints!LOL! Have a great day!

Paper: cc designs copic white, real red, textured more mustard, bashful blue

Beachies getting dirty

For my first dirty dare cards I decided to pair some CC designs beachies and American craft dp. I combined several challenges on both of my cards. Are you tired of the beachies yet?!?! Im just lovin these adorable images and I want to use them before my summer is over!LOL! I thought instead of giving the teachers a back to school type card/gift this year I might give them a Hope you enjoyed your summer card/gift especially since we start school in a little over a week and summer is far from over (weather wise) for us!LOL! I colored both of the images with copics and prismacolor pencils. Quick post for the this morning. Off to play in the challenges!LOL! Have a great day!

Swiss Pixie Gretel

It took me a little bit this morning to figure out what to do with todays colors especially since I wanted to stamp more of my new goodies! Then I thought about making my pixie a red head! I used dusty durango instead of really rust since Im out of really rust ribbon. I went with a really simplified version of Jens sfytt and I left off a panel which I actually didnt do on purpose...just trying to play it off!LOL! See what happens when you try to stamp with 3 kids who woke up this morning and decided today was the day they were not going to drive their Mama crazy!LOL! Can I have a do-over for this week?!!

Well my card didnt turn out so quite so clean and simple! I wanted to play along with the Sugar bowls sketch challenge so I colored up the Sugar Nellie image using the colors from this weeks CAS color challenge. Ive been wanting to try sewing on my card so I decided to just keep the layout simple and just add stitching. Well..... as I was linking the sugar bowl challenge I noticed that you were to use ribbon or bows for the challenge! So long story short I think I blew both challenges this morning!LOL! I colored Trevor using copics and added a shadow and sand using prismacolor pencils. I also added some white highlights with my prismacolor pencil. I had so much fun coloring this! Todays lsc challenge is to use colors from your high school or your wedding. I went to high school at Tift Co. High and our colors are blue and white. My wedding colors were blue and silver. So it looked like I was definitely making a blue card this morning!LOL! Since school starts here in a little over 2 wks I decided to go with my high school colors. I colored up cheer Anya and made her a blue devil cheerleader. She is colored with copics and prismacolor pencils. I have found a copic color today I DO NOT like!LOL! B39 Prussian blue is a very hard color to work with! I used b32, b34, and b39 for her skirt and I had alot of bleeding. If anyone has another combo they recommend for night of navy I would love to hear it! I used my computer for the Go big blue sentiment. This will be a perfect card for the upcoming football season.

Ctd50 Bathing Beauties

Michelle Zindorf and Kittie I am NOT!!!LOL!! I wanted to play along in the Color throwdown this week. The colors are real red, tempting turquoise, and kiwi kiss. Love these colors!! I pulled out a Rubbernecker image I borrowed from Mama that has yet to see ink! She has probably had it now for 2 yrs and it was feelin unloved so it had to come visit me to get some love!LOL! So after coloring up the ladies using copics I was feelin froggy and decided to try to sponge some sand underneath them! That worked okay so I stamped the itty bitty background image using close to cocoa. That worked too!! Alright!! So I went on to the water....I shoulda stopped at the sand!LOL! I really messed up the water and the more I tried to fix it the worse it got! I used the circle nestie to sponge in my sun. My 8 yr old says "Its fine Mama, it just looks like the water is touchin the sun." Well I decided to finish up the card instead of trashing the image!LOL! For some finishing touches I added some piercing and red brads.

Maybe next time I wont try to make a card after a day full of school clothes shopping with the kids!LOL!!

Stamps: Bathing beauties set of 3-Rubbernecker, SU itty bitty backgrounds

This is the first time I've done this and I love how it looks!! After you emboss your image just leave it in the die and sponge away! The chalk ink wipes right off your nestie using a baby wipe. Fs126 Nuts for B-gin-r

Todays featured stamper is Sandra aka B-gin-r. I love Sandra's gallery! Awesome cards! I picked her card here to case. I didnt have the squirrel image she used so I used Sugar nellies Nuts image from the home grown collection. I colored the image using gamsol magic. I changed the dp to MME (no telling how long Ive had this!LOL!) and Coredinations cs. Instead of a circle sentiment I added a prima with a button/brad center. I also used some yummy ribbon I got from Jacksonbelle embellishments. I also remebered to take a pic of the inside of the card. I havent stamped a sentiment on it yet. I like to have a few cards on hand that will just about work for anything that I can add the sentiment later for the occassion.

Hope you all had a great 4th of July yesterday! We celebrated with our family on Friday since Danny and Jessie had to work yesterday. I spent just about all day yesterday playing Guess who with my kids!LOL! Seriously! We were cleaning out their closet and they found my old game and wanted me to show them how to play it. They loved it and we played it like 100 times yesterday!LOL!

Feelin Blue

I made this card for todays sketch challenge. I knew I wanted to make another simple card (no coloring) and I knew I needed small images. I went through my $1 stamps thinking this would be a good sketch to finally use all those stamps I had to have b/c they were only a $1 and NEVER use!LOL! Well as I was going through the images this set fell off the shelf. Okay so I can take a hint!LOL! Ive made alot of cards with this set cuz I just love it but I realized I havent done anything with the feelin blue sentiment so I went with it. I stamped the fish onto American craft cs (more from the tropical collection) in versafine onyx ink. After I glued down all the images I still thought it needed something else so I placed some dew drops to look like bubbles. Not so sure if I like the dew drops or not but they are there now!LOL! Hope you are not feelin blue today!
