fs50 text message
It Sunday so you know what that means. Featured Stamper day. Todays featured stamper is KathyC. I've never seen her gallery until tonight and I loved the layout of her card that I cased-surprise, surprise huh!??!
I've been wanting to stamp this phone image from Gina K text message set for awhile now and it fit perfect for the image for tonights card. I made this card for Madison for Valentines Day. She loves the phone!LOL! She has a play cell phone she carries with her everywhere! I stamped the on the spot background in teal on cool carribean cs. The 2 flower images are also from the set I stamped them in regal rose and cool carribean and added some black dots. The flower centers also have diamond stickles added to them. The phone image is colored with prismacolor pencils (another surprise I know!LOL!) and blended with gamsol. The face plate area is covered with crystal effects. I layered the phone image on regal rose then teal. I added the teal ribbon and black brads for my embellishments and adhered it to a black card base.
So if any of you pay attention to the time under the post you will notice its about 2 am where I am. Why you say?!! Well Alana stayed with her Nana Joy last night and Madison and Brayden are my nite owl/late sleepers so we didnt get up until almost 10 this am and now I cant sleep!LOL! Hope you have a wonderful day. I forsee a nap in mine!LOL!

Head over heels
Happy Friday! I have a friend who asked me to make a valentine card for her to give to her hubby. She didnt want anything mushy she's like me she likes cute and funny! When I saw todays challenge I thought it would be a good time to make her card and this is what I came up with. She didnt want traditional colors or traditional images like hearts, etc. So I went through my images and found this little duck from High hopes. Isnt he adorable!?!? I printed the sentiment out on my computer since I couldnt find what I was looking for in my sentiments....reason to go shopping!LOL!
I started with a 31/4" x 12" apricot card base folded in half and used the ddsketch for this month. For todays challenge you could use 2 colors and a neutral so for my card I chose barely banana, apricot appeal and black for my neutral. Ive been on a black kick this week..dont know what thats about! You couldnt use any dp or cuttlbug only background stamps. I chose crosshatch and stamped it in black on banana and layered with black. The duck was colored with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. The circles are fiskars circle cutter. The sentiment is punched with SU circle punches. It was so hard not to use my scallop punch or add some ribbon to this card! I added 3 black brads instead to finish off the card. I think I need to go make a girly card now!LOL!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

cc149 Rosey Apricots
Happy Tuesday everyone! Did you see the new Fan club gallery!??! So cute! Todays color challenge was apricot appeal, sage shadow, and rose red. Doesnt that just scream floral to you?!?! Well it did to me too.
I just cut into the rubber of this set today. This was a FREE set we got from SU just before Christmas. Its a level 3 hostess set from the S/S catty. I stamped the smallest flower on my sage card base tone on tone and added some dots with my white gel pen. On my apricot layer I stamped another flower image from this set and added the white dots again. I also used my rose red dp with the white dotted lines. The sentiment and flower are colored with primsacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. I curled the edges of the flowers up and popped them up on dimensionals. I added diamond stickles to ALL the flowers!LOL! Gottal love that sparkle! The layout I used is a sc from Kirstens blog (link on side bar) Confessions of a Naptime stamper. I love this layout although I did have to change a couple of things for my card. Instead of a sentiment I added ribbon and I added a flower to the lower left hand corner of the sentiment. Have a great day!!

Tlc151 Felt w/the heart
Todays technique challenge was to make a pocket heart. I dont have ANY valentine stamps YET!LOL! I cant belive I dont have any! I went digging through my stamps and finally found this CTMH sentiment and I knew what I wanted to do. I love this sentiment I think its beautiful!
My card base is textured river rock and all dp is Brocade. I distressed and sponged the dp w/choc chip ink. When I first started stamping I distressed and sponged EVERYTHING!LOL! I loved it! I still love the distressed look but I dont use it very much anymore. Isnt it funny how your style and taste can change as trends change! I used gold antique eyelets for the heart and in all corners of the card. Eyelets are something else I very seldom use. Im just a brad kinda girl!LOL! Eyelets are sooooo much easier to do with a cropadile so I dont actually cringe when I have to do eyelets anymore!LOL! I faux stitched around the old olive layer and went over it with my choc chip marker. Can you believe there is only one thing stamped on my card and I used 2 different patterns of dp! YAAAYYY for me!LOL!
I hope you all had a great weekend. I finally got my SU catties in this weekend. When Brayden was sick I missed the deadline to order the catalogs to have them by the 1st. Next time I will make sure I dont miss the deadline! I ordered them on the 15th of Dec and just got them this weekend. Thats almost a MONTH! Anyone interested in a catty give me a call or email me.

Kickstand Seashore
We are having some very gloomy weather here today. Sorry for the bad pic! Todays sketch challenge was a kickstand card designed by one of my favorite stampers Kirsten (ked). I love doing kickstand cards although sometimes they are hard to get a good pic of (like today!LOL!).
I made this card for my bestest friend Dusty. She lives in P.C. and has about 3 dogs and I think of her everytime I see this stamp set. BTW I won this stamp set off of Ana's blog candy (Thanks Ana!) All images and sentiment are from MFT By the seashore. The card base is kraft paper and I cute 1" from the bottom for my kickstand image. My soft sky layer has the waves embossed with clear ep. Since I still had my ep out from yesterdays card I decided to just go with it!LOL! The bird and post are up on dimensionals. I also used kraft taffeta ribbon. My sentiment layer is kraft( 1 3/8), cameo coral( 1 1/4), and textured soft sky(1) circle punched with the friendship embossed and punched out with the WW punch and popped up on dimensionals. For the main image I used my prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. On the inside of the card I stamped the birds at the top and the seashells on the bottom and colored them. You can see a couple of the seashells along the bottom in the pic.
Everyone is back to school and work today and I have a quiet day with the house to myself! AAAHHH!!!!LOL!

Wild Banana Rain
Today is going to be another quickie post. Im such a dork! I thought the kids didnt go back to school until Thurs. Well they go back tommorrow so I have some last minute clothes, etc. to do to get them ready to go back to school tommorrow.
I started this card this morning when I saw the color challenge and then we had to go to town so I had to come back to it. I hate doing that b/c I usually lose my inspiration for the card and it doesnt turn out the way I wanted! This time wasnt so bad I only left off one thing I wanted on the card and had to change a couple of things. I pretty pleased with how this turned out! I used crystal effects on just about the whole card!LOL! I added it to her boots, raincoat, dog coat, puddle, and cloud. I used MFT sketch challenge 12 and todays color challenge. I embossed the raindrops on the blue bayou panel. I think that just about covers it!LOL! Have a great day!

Featured Stamper Takes the Cake
WOW! Did I have a hard time with this card!LOL! I remeber now why I dont try to stamp first things in the morning. Im just not a morning person! It tooks 3 times of completely taking the card apart and recutting layers before I got the result similar to what I wanted. I have a hard time with using different dps on my cards. If I use dp I usually stick with one design so I wanted to give it a try today. SO not the thing for me today do first thing in the morning...it took me over 2 hrs to make this card!LOL!
I used my You take the cake from MFT for the main image and sentiment. The main image was colored w/prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. I colored the dress to match the dp. I also added stickles to the candle and icing. The rest of the card I honestly couldnt tell you much about b/c it changed so much and my brain hurts by now!LOL! I have a hard time "eyeballing" a card and trying to get my measurements right when casing.
Have a great day!

wsc29 Clarabelle and Riley
Ive been playing with some High Hopes Stamps today. They are so adorable and fun to color...right up my alley! My Mom ordered me some for Christmas and of course she had to put a few in her cart for her too!LOL! So of course in turn I had to borrow them to stamp me some images. This image is Clarabelle and Riley.
Dont you just love my little red headed cowboy! Hes so cute!LOL! When I was pregnant we were sure we were going to have a red headed baby! Dannys hair was orange when he was born although now its a light brown. My hair is dark brown but let me get in the sun and you'll see the red shining through!LOL! So how we ended up with 3 children and no red hair I'll never know!LOL! Alana has dark brown hair and Madison and Brayden are dirty blondes. My SIL Karen threw me a baby shower when I was pregnant with Madison and one of the games was every guest had to draw a pic of what they thought the baby would look like and they had to guess things like wt, eye color, etc. Some of the pics are soooooo funny and so off!LOL! But it was a fantastic idea for the party b/c I now have them all in a scrapbook.
Okay back to the card....I colored the image with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol using colors from the outlaw dp. The main image is stamped on vanilla with timber brown stazon then layered on choc chip and rust. The rust layer is distressed. I stamped the cow spots on vanilla and layered on sage. The distressed outlaw dp is adhered to the creamy caramel card base. For my circle image I stamped one of the cow spots and punched out with 1" circle punch and layered w/sage( 1 1/4") and choc chip( 1 3/8"). Oh and I almost forgot I used Beate wsc29 for the layout!
Have a great weekend!

Fabulous triple
This card is another triple challenge card. Todays limited supply challenge was no vanilla or white cs. Yesterdays challenge was flowers and I also used the sketch challenge-ish!LOL!
When I saw todays challenge I knew it was going to be a challenge for me! No coloring! *GASP* I thought about coloring on kraft paper one of the many things on my list of things to try but then I saw the fabulous flower on my list too. So I went with it. I love all the cards Ive seen using the flower cut out and popped up but Ive never tried it b/c I HATE cutting mainly b/c I totally suck at it!LOL! I stamped the flower 3 times on pretty in pick with pomegrante ink and cut the flowers out and popped them up. I put 3 brads in the center of the top flower and sponged all the edges w/pomgrante ink. Behind my main image I stamped Tres Chic on pink w/pomegrante ink and layered w/ballet blue cs. The sentiment is stamped on pink w/Choc chip ink and distressed and sponged w/choc chip and layered on pomegrante. The main image and sentiment are layered on the choc chip layer (3 x 4 3/4) . I placed 3 brads along the edge of the sentiment layer and the last one didnt line up right. I always do that its always the last one that is off centered! The ribbon is also tied under the main image. I pulled the color combo from the ribbon. I stamped Tres Chip in choc chip ink on ballet blue and sponged and distressed it and attached it to my pomegrante textured card base (4 1/4 x 5 1/2).
Hope you have a great weekend! We are going to meet Mom for lunch today and Alana is going to spend the night with Nana and Papa and guess what shes taking with her (evil laugh inserted here!!)LOL!!!!!

Triple Whimsy
Yesterday did not turn out like I planned!LOL! The kids were CRAZY yesterday! They went to bed VERY early last night!!! I made this card yesterday for the color and sketch challenge and todays challenge was Flowers so it fit in with todays challenge too!
I really like the color challenge! I used teal for the card base and real red and celery for the layers. The dp is from the POP in celery. For the main image I stamped the sentiment in celery. I stamped the butterfly twice once on the main image and once to cut out to 3-d the butterfly. I added red jewels to random dots on the butterfly wings. When I finished the card I thought it needed something so I added the ribbon and the ladybugs stamped in the lower right edge. I really liked how the black seemed to add to the colors so I added the black brads in the corners. Ignore Alana's finger smudge on the main image!LOL! She was coloring some images I stamped for her while I was making my card and of course after I was completly through with the card she grabs it and had ink on her finger. I didnt ask how she got ink on her finger. I didnt want to know!!!!!
Since yesterdays post was pretty short and sweet I thought I would fill you in on our holiday. My husband's Dad was here this Christmas and it was the first Christmas he has been with his dad since he was 3 years old. The kids got a ton of toys that they dont need!LOL! I got a new stove!! YYAAAAYYY!!!! I also got some super cute high hopes stamps that you will be seeing very soon!
I know its after the fact but I was so sick during the holidays I didnt get a chance to post anything so I want to know how your holiday was. You know me I want FUNNY!!! Tell me the funniest thing that happened this Christmas or in my case the most annoying toy your kids got!LOL! Alana got this High School Musical barbie that sings! UGGGGGHHHH!HH!! Im ready to toss the thing in the trash! I can usually handle noisy toys as long as they have a volume well this doll doesnt and its very loud! Its about to drive me up the wall! I promise when they go back to school next week Gabriella will go missing for awhile!LOL! We already knew Alana was gaga over high school musical but Madison and Brayden love it too now. I can quote both movies (from Santa! How dumb was he!??!!) by now!LOL! Have a great day!
