Stack O Pumpkins

2 days in a row!! Woo Hoo!! But shhhh!! I dont wanna jinx it!LOL!

Im trying to get into fall mode but it hard to do with 90 degree weather! Todays featured stamper is Jojot aka Joanne. Big congrats to you Joanne!! I came across this card in Joannes gallery and knew I wanted to case it because of the pumpkins image. I love this adorable stack o pumpkins whipper snapper image. Its so fun to color and its so large that it takes up most of the card so no fussy layout stuff is needed!LOL! I colored the image using copics and added some sponging with Sage versamagic chalk ink. I distressed the edges with my cutter kit. I dont know why but fall just makes me distress my cards it just always seems to fit! Now that Ive made my first fall card of the year bring on the wind and falling leaves!

I also wanted to wish my sweet girl Madison a HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY!!! Cant believe shes 7 yrs old today!

Nuts about you!

This is going to be a short post today. Ive been sick almost all week so I have a ton of laundry to do today! Im also trying to make it up to the kids since I havent spent alot of time with them this week. So for me today is a day full of laundry and Mario kart!LOL! I also hope to squeeze in some stamping time this weekend.
This is a project that totally fell together for me which is exactly what I needed!LOL! I bought a can of mixed nuts to cover for this adorable squirrel image and its been sitting on my desk for a couple of weeks. I still had the dp and cs from the marrakech bear card I made on my desk. I needed some dp with blue since the lid is blue so I knew this dp would be perfect. I paired the dp with PTI enchanted evening cs and coredinations blue. I colored the squirrel with copics and used circle nesties to cut out and emboss the circles. For finishing touches I added a sentiment tag and an enchanted evening button. Both the marrakech dp and into the forest set can be found at I heart papers.
Stamps: Into the forest
Paper: white, pti enchanted evening, marrakech dp, coredinations cs
Ink: memento black, copics e51, e53, e31, e35, e57, e59

Ant Picnic

I was so glad to finally get to stamp today! Im tellin ya this going days without stamping is not for Shannon! I miss my stamp table! LOL! I made a card today for Jeanne's summers end challenge and todays featured stamper challenge. I chose this card to case. I kept the layout but changed the card to a 4 1/4" sq card. I love making these small square cards! I used this adorable ant from I heart papers hugs from a bug stamp set. Hes so cute! I colored the ant using copics and added grass with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I also added some crystal effects to the ant. Its hard to see in the pic but the dp I used is glossy so my ant had to match! I used Sei black orchid dp but I cant find the striped design on the site.

We went to a family reunion today and I hope to finally be able to visit some of my fave blogs today. Maybe after this past week Ive finally got my routine down and I can squeeze some stamping and blogging time in there!LOL! Since Ive been such a bad blogger lately how bout a little candy?!?! I havent had any blog candy in awhile. Leave me a comment today tellin me your fave image from the Hugs from a bug set and I will pick a winner on Friday Aug 21. Have a great day!!

Marrakech Bear

Isnt it funny how the right challenge can get your mojo going?! I sat down twice yesterday to make a card using the sketch and it just never came together. After I got home today I took a peek at todays WT challenge. The challenge for today is variegated color. I knew I had to use this ribbon I came across the other day while putting all my loose ribbon on my new ribbon ring. I *heart* my ribbon ring btw!! After looking at the ribbon I remembered the colors in it matched the marrakech dp I pulled out to use since I havent used one sheet of it. I used I heart papers new stamp set Into the forest. I love this little bear! He reminds me of Yogi!LOL! I colored him using copics and added some background color using my primsacolor pencils and gamsol. I also stamped a flower image from the set in his hand. Oh...and as I was trying to tie the bow I remembered why I have so much of this ribbon!LOL! Its not easy to tie!

MFT Grillin Guy

My hubbys 35th(tee hee) bday is tommorrow. I got this MFT set at CHA just for him. He loves to grill! I used some of his fave colors and his fave food. For the coals I used Amy's smoldering coals HTDT. Mine didnt turn out quite as great as hers but Im happy with them and I know Danny will love this card! I also used another tip I saw on someones blog (prolly Paula's!) about stamping the steaks onto kraft with red ink. Doesnt that steak looks real?!?! I colored grillin guy with copics and used prismacolor pencils and gamsol for the frame. I even used my classic stripes background for this card. I think Ive only used that background once! I have seriously been on a side sentiment kick so I finished off my card with a sentiment and piercing. Have a great day!

Stamps: Mft Whos that grillin guy, Classic stripes SU background
Paper: Coredinations gray, PTI sky blue, PTI pure poppy, kraft, white

Im a sucker for you

I just had to make another card for todays Fs. I chose Joannes card here to case. I kept the bug theme but used this mosquito from the new set from I heart papers Hugs from a bug available TODAY! The first thing I thought of when I saw the mosquito and sentiment was using it for valentines with suckers. Well Im not quite ready to make valentines but I did make a card using the same idea! I used some Piggy tales dp and colored the mosquito using colors from it to make him a little more fun! Now that my kids have seen this card and asked who it was for I guess I need to make two more and slip them in their bookbags!

Stamps: Hugs from a bug
Paper: coredinations orange, yellow, and teal, white
Ink: memento black, copics yr16, bg45, bg49, y21

Hello Friend! Release day!

Todays featured stamper is Sleepy in Seattle. I cased this card of Joannes. I wanted to use my Into the forest stamp set that is available TODAY from I heart papers! This great set is only $10! Gotta love a great priced set! Joannes card is just what I needed to get started! I kept the layout but changed the card size to 5 1/4" sq. I stamped and masked the trees and drew a hill. I popped up my bird instead of the rabbits Joanne used and stamped the Hello friend sentiment. I sponged the edges of the white layer with river rock. I also used some yummy sassafras lass dp that comes with the border I used. My image turned out pretty large so I covered most of the dp!

Stamps: Into the forest
Paper: river rock, white, cool carribean, sassafrass lass dp
Ink: memento brown, copics bg93, bg96, yg91, yg93, yg95, bg15, bg32, bg34, yr16, e49

Into the forest

I survived my 1st day at the Pre-K! yayy! Hey...that rhymes!LOL! Ive been trying to make this card for a couple of days now! I used a soon to be available set from IHP called Into the forest. Well you know I like to tell you all about how my card came to be so here we go...I colored the tree image to use for the color challenge Tues and was going to add a bird image from this set. Well I never got around to making a card Tues so when the sketch challenge was posted Wed I could still use my image but then this Penny Lane dp from MME caught my eye and I thought I would try to punch out the circles with my circle punch and put them on my tree for a fun look. I used a 1/2" circle punch for the large circles and a 1/4" circle punch for the smaller circles. Well thats as far as I made it on the sketch challenge Wed!LOL! Finally today I got to sit down and finish my card. My kids were all sound asleep by 8:45 which must mean they had a great 1st day of school today!LOL! Now you would think after all Ive been through to finally finish this card it would be over....NOPE...as I was taking my pic on of my bulbs blew on my one of my lamps. Did I have a replacement bulb?!?! Of course not...that would have been too easy!LOL!! So here is my finally finished card with bad lighting! Hope you like it! Dont forget to check out the other Chickengirls blogs for some eye candy!

I have a sneak peek for you today. This adorable bee image and sentiment are from the new stamp line from I heart papers. This set is called Hugs from a bug and will be available on Aug 9. I paired the bee image with some Piggy tales dp I also got at I heart papers from . It reminded me of a honeycomb!LOL! Todays CCEE challenge is birds and the bees so I had to play along with this cutie! I also used Julees mojo sketch for my layout. I colored the bee using copics and sponged some pumpkin pie ink around the circle. I also did some hand stitching on this card b/c I ran across some orange thread. Have a great day!!
