As I was getting ready to browse through some of my fave blogs I realized I havent posted today! Oops! Sorry!

Todays colors are vanilla, choc chip, and sage shadow. I also used Julees mojo39 sketch challenge. Ive really loved the card Silke has posted lately! They are striking! I wanted to try to make a similar card todays w/the color combo. For my main image I stamped the bird in versamark and then chocolate chip. I embossed the image w/clear detail ep. I colored in the flourishes (?) on the bird w/my sage shadow marker. For the sentiment I used the sage shadow marker to only ink the always in the sentiment and pierced 3 dots. The image and sentiment are both popped up on dimensionals. I used choc chip 5/8" wide grosgrain ribbon and gold brads for my embellishments. Pretty simple card and far from my usual style. I like it but it doesnt come close to the striking cards Silke makes!LOL! Have a great day!

Soft Blush Dolphin

I love this adorable set from H & M stamps. I used the turtle for my featured stamper card and had to ink up the dolphin too! We met some SCS ladies in Valdosta Friday night for dinner and shopping. While we were shopping I picked up a few copic markers. I got BG10 Cool shadow which is a perfect match for soft sky. I also got E00 skin white for skin tones and C1 Cool Grey No. 1 for outlines. I used all 3 on my dolphin card.
I made this card for Taylors tecc17. You can find Taylors blog link on the sidebar (Taylored expressions). I think this color combo would be great for a baby card. What do you think?

Peanutbee Case

Hooray for Denise todays featured stamper! I love Denise's gallery! She is a super talented stamper. I chose to case one of Denise's cards that first caught my eye and ended up in my faves. I changed the stamps and colors. I also added an extra oval punch and I added faux stitching instead of paper piercing on the main image.

I love these H & M adorable images from the Sealife set. As soon as I saw this set I knew I had to have it or umm borrow it from Mom!LOL! I colored the turtle using prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. I went back over the outline of the turtle w/my black prismacolor marker. Michelle Zindorf does this alot after coloring her images and now I see why! I also added some white gel pen hightlights on the turtle. I used the shell for my corner image and added the sentiment from Lots of thoughts. I think this will make a great fathers day card from the kids to one of their Grandfathers. Have a great day!

Inspired by Maurices

I got to stamp and post 2 days in a row! Im on a roll!LOL! Todays card is using the sketch challenge. I bought a shirt from Maurices a couple of months ago and its one of my faves! I wrote down the color combo and a few sets that fit the style of the shirt in my inspiration book. The three sets were baroque motifs, true friend, and wanted. I need a thank you card for my step dad so I thought the colors were good for a masculine(ish) card but I knew the true friend wouldnt work b/c it would be too girly. I decided to use baroque motifs. I still feel like I went too girly with it so I might try it again w/Wanted. Here is a pic of part of the shirt that inspired my card. The design goes up the shirt in a swirl.

For the card I started with a taken w/teal card base. I stamped the baroque swirl in night of navy and the small flower in brilliance cosmic copper. For the main image panel I stamped the same design as the card base and layered w/night of navy and copper textured cs from DCWV metallic pack. For the side panels I used night of navy and placed 4 copper snaps on each one. I stamped the Baroque medallion inked in teal onto Pti white and punched out w/the scallop punch. I added copper stickles to parts of the medallion and both are popped up on dimensionals. Since this is a thank you card I stamped the kind sentiment inked in cosmic copper onto the the main image panel. Have a great day!

Sparkling Smiles

I got some much needed stamping therapy this morning! Ive missed doing my daily challenges but I love my new nephew so I guess my stamping can take a back seat for a couple of weeks!LOL! Jaylen was 1 week old yesterday and is doing great!

Since Im so behind on challenges I used todays colors challenge and Julee's mojo38 sketch. I thought todays colors were perfect for my unloved turtle from the SU silly sealife set. I colored the turtle using prismacolors and blended w/gamsol then I sponged soft sky and blue bayou around the image and edges. I stamped cheesecloth inked in blue bayou onto soft sky. The 3 panels are embossed using itty bitty backgrounds and holographic ep. I love it b/c of the sparkle! I also added diamond stickles to the bubbles in the image and the oval sentiment layer. The sentiment is from Verve Visual. I actually used white as a background layer on this card which I never do but I like the way it looks on this card! My knot turned out perfect on this card. Wanna know how?!?!?! I used the stay put bow! Love it! Have a great day!

Fancy Free Riley

I wanna be like Riley! Kicked back with a cupcake and coffee although I dont drink coffee so we'll pretend its hot cocoa. I made this card for yesterdays sketch challenge and Tuesdays color challenge pumpkin pie, soft sky, and ruby red.
I received the Riley image from a friend (Hi Deb). I colored Riley with prismacolor pencils. I used my nesties on him too so Riley's feelin all kind of love!LOL! The dp I used is from the Creepy Crawly dps. I did have a hard time with the layout I couldnt get my sentiment panel right. I finally got it to where I was satisfied with it! I used a sentiment from Many Happy returns and added pomegrante baubles.
Last week was a very bad week! Alot of things have been going on lately that I prefer not to share here b/c my blog is supposed to be my happy place so I dont want to bum you guys out!LOL! This week has just been busy baby busy! My sister had a boy on Monday! Hes so cute and sweet! So Ive been busy getting baby kisses!LOL! Dontcha just love how babies smell!?!?! Brayden is already asking when they can go outside and play!LOL! Have a great day!

fs65 Music

Really quick post for now! Im dog tired!LOL! I just got off work and saw the FS was posted and had to get in a quick card before bed. I mean quick! I finished this card in 5 mins. I think thats a record for me!LOL!
Todays FS is Kim nutsymuhl. I chose to case Kims Plaid friend card. I really liked her image looked with the black accents. I chose to use a cb layer instead of a background stamp. Ive had this allegro cb folder for a couple of months now and I love this sentiment. Im not sure who makes the sentiment I got it at a trash and treasure sale at the Scrapbook market. The cb layer is river rock and I used double stitched river rock grosgrain. The sentiment is stamped on PTI white in river rock then I lightly sponged the edges of w/river rock ink. I loved Kims black frame on her card so I made my own with my black marker. I was going to add some black brads but I think I like the card without them.
Have a great day!

Go Bananas

Have I ever said how much I hate Fridays!?!? Seriously is this school year over yet?!? Okay... let me explain Fridays are show and tell and every Friday is a war here with me and Brayden. He wants to take the same thing every week! The child has a million toys and wants to take the same 2 Webkins every week! Thank goodness only one more show and tell left!LOL!!

Okay Im through venting now on to the card. I love animals! Have I ever said that!LOL! Todays challenge was circles. This is a card I made earlier this week and I got lucky it fit for todays challenge. Shhh!! Dont tell anyone!LOL! The layout is a sketch challenge from Taylors blog. I made this card for my hubby of course. The inside says "Lets go bananas!" The card base is choc chip ( 4 1/4 x 5 1/2) I layered wild wasabi(4 1/8 x 5 1/2) then celery ( 4 x 5 1/2). I stamped the vines from Monkey business onto the celery layer randomly with wasabi ink. The circle panel is choc chip(2 x 4 1/4) layered with wasabi ( 1 7/8 x 4 1/4). I stamped the bananas from Monkey business3 times onto PTI white w/barely banana ink and punched them out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and layered them with 1 3/8" banana cs. The center banana is popped up on dimensionals. I stamped the monkey from Zoofari onto PTI white 2 times and colored w/prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. I cut both the monkeys out and let me tell you they were not the easiest things to cut out!LOL! I popped them up on dimenisonals also. The sentiment just the 2 of us is from Many Happy Returns stamped on the celery layer in choc chip ink. To finish off my card I paper pierced the edges and added faux stitching w/the choc chip marker.

Have a great day!
