East Coast Prep Superstar

Todays challenge was to make a card inspired by or about music. I thought my new ipodabella fit the challenge perfectly. I used Kirstens Sunday sketck for the layout.
Only Bella could get away w/red hot pants like that!LOL!
I used my SU markers for the dots on her jacket since paper piecing didnt happen today. Dont ask!LOL! The superstar I got from HL last year during one of their 1/2 off acrylic stamps sale. The bella baubles are my new fave embelishments! I put 3 clear baubles on the bottom left of the card. I also added stickles to the"fur" on bellas jacket, the ipod, her bow, and the heart on her pants. This card will go to my cousin for her bday this weekend.
Recipe:
Stamps: idpodabella
Paper: turquiose, real red, mustard, east coast prep dps
Other: wild wasabi ribbon, bella baubles, dimensionals, crystal stickles

Cutie Pie Cupcakabella

Today is sketch challenge day! I love doing the challenges on SCS it gets me stamping and definetly challenges me sometimes!LOL! If you havent participated in the challenges then DO IT! I promise you wont regret it!

For todays sketch I decided to also combine Mondays Mix it up challenge and use dots and stripes dp from Cutie Pie. I loved how the dots in the dp matched bella dress. On the top of the cupcake I added my new pomegrante baubles. I love them! I also used my new Lots of thoughts SAB set. I only inked up 3 lines for it to fit in 1 3/8" circle punch and layered w/scallop punch. The polka dot ribbon is from Michaels.

Off to take Alana to Dr. Have a great day!

cc155 Black Rock Silhouettes

Todays colors challenge was difficult for me since it was supposed to be a elegant color challenge. Well yall know I cant do elegant!LOL! This was what I came up with.
Todays colors were river rock, basic black, and white. I used PTI white for my card base and image. My river rock layer is stamped w/french script in black and sanded w/river rock. My main image is stamped w/sanded in river rock and garden silhouettes in black stazon. For embelishments I added the double stitched grograin ribbon in river rock a black quickutz photo corner with white stitches rub-ons and 3 black brads. Pretty simple card today.
We have a field trip today so Im off to get ready! Have a great day!

I made this card last night for a teacher I subbed for last week. She had frogs all over her classroom so I thought she would enjoy this frolicking frog image. I got lucky when I looked at the challenge this morning and my card fit for the challenge! YAAYYYY!
The challenge today was to mix patterns like dots and stripes. Use 2 or more different patterns of dp or backgrounds.
My card base is 5 1/4" sq. The dp I used was east coast prep. I colored my image with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. The ribbon is the double stitched wild wasabi I love this ribbon. It comes in all the In colors. The frog is popped up on dimensionals and I added stickles to the dragonfly. Okay now on to the goody of the card. I bought some MM brads probably a year ago. I pulled them out last night b/c I needed a mustard brad and couldnt find one so I went through my eyelets and found this pack of eyelets that has matches for blue bayou, pomegrante, mustard and eggplant.! Why have I been hoarding these I dont know but I promise you will see them more in the next few days. Have a great day!

FS55 Some people feel the rain

Congrats to Mary Jo a wonderful stamper! Any of you who visit my blog know I admire Mary Jo and her wonderful style! Mary Jo was chosen for Featured stamper today! YAYY!!! It was fun going through her gallery which I realized today I have almost her entire gallery in my favorites!LOL!

I chose to case her rain or shine card. I changed to dp to the new Jersey shore dp. I love the colors in this dp and I thought the polka dot dp was perfect to paper piece matching her shoes. I also paper pieced the dog sweater. Let me tell you that was NOT easy!LOL! My hands are not small! I thought Mary Jo's layout out was wonderful so I only changed it to fit my sentiment. I intended to have the sentiment stamped on two layer like "others just get wet but it wouldnt fit so I had to adjust. I colored the water puddle, do, boots, and skin with prismacolor pencils. I had to use a plate to make the curved edge b/c I dont have a CM or coluzzle circle. FYI that got added to my long list of wants today!LOL! My card is far from as wonderful as Mary Jo's but Im pretty pleased with it.

Hope you all have had a wonderful weekend. I took the kids Glo bowling yesterday and they had a blast! Too fun! Today we have my neices bday party. They were born about a week apart and they are having their 2nd bday party.

Dreams and Dragons

I made this card yesterday using the sc. I was inspired by a card Kirsten posted on her blog called Dragon Tails. I borrowed this set from my Mom its an old retired set from SU but I think
its so cute!
I started with a rose red card base. The dp is Daisy D's but I cant remeber the name of it but I got it @ HL a few months ago. I love the colors in it and thought it was perfect for a girly card. The castle in stamped on lavender lace tone on tone. I colored the dragon with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. The sentiment is stamped on the dp with stazon black.

I didnt get a chance to make anything today b/c I had to work but hopefully I will get to play tonight before AI comes on!

sc164 Half cracked

I really struggled with this card this morning! I think its the colors. Im not really a pastel color person. I've had this American craft dp for a about a year now I think. I love this adorable image for TAC! It always make me laugh!
I colored the image with prismacolor pencils but I dont have a match for barely banana so I had to improvise and went through the kids colored pencils!LOL! The rest of the card is pretty simple but I dont remeber the measurements this morning. This card fried my brain!LOL!
Blog candy winner is........Debby Winters!!!
Thank you all for all your comments! I enjoyed reading about your bday memories! Debby email me sadersk@yahoo.com your snail mail and I will get your goodies to you.

cc154 Times fun

Todays colors were perfect for my party frog from Rubbernecker. I love this frog! I started out using Kirstens sketch challenge but it didnt end up that way. I'll try another one later. Click on her blog link Confessions of a naptime stamper to see the sketch.
I started todays card with a 5 1/4" sq card base b/c my image is so large. I used creepy crawly dp measuring 3 x 4 7/8. I love the new striped grosgrain ribbon. I think it looks good with the striped dp. My image is colored with prismacolor pencils and blended w/gamsol. The sentiment is from Hambo and I think it goes great with this image. To finish off my card I added 3 celery brads. Pretty simple card but I love the colors!
We had alot of fun at the My little pony show on Sunday it was so cute! My sister and I took our girls and we both took our last pic at the same time and missed getting a pic of the big teapot! The name show was Worlds biggest teaparty. The teapot was so cute and all the ponies were standing around and my sister said "we came to the worlds biggest teaparty and dont even have a pic of the teapot!"LOL! One of those you had to be there moments!LOL! The girls all loved it though! Thanks Nana!

Happy Valentines Day!

I dont have anything to share with you today but some yapping!LOL! I know I promised blog candy today but I didnt get a chance to get a pic so I will post it in the morning. I just tucked my little ones into bed and they are already asleep!LOL! Big day for them! Big day for me too!LOL! 3 class parties, 1 bday party, and a tired Mama!LOL! Alana turned 7 years old today. I cant believe it! My baby is 7!!! I try to make the day all about her so her birthday is not overshadowed by Valentines Day. Instead of buying her a cake or cupcakes I decided to just buy some cake mix and let her help me maker her own cake. She was so psyched! Yaaayyyy! Brownie points for Mama!LOL! She loves strawberries so I got her a strawberry cake mix and strawberry icing. I did talk her into us waiting until tommorrow to make it since she had a class party today w/cookies and cupcake AND she had ice cream at the restaraunt tonight. My child has gone Hannah Montana crazy and just about everything she got for her bday was Hannah Montana or High School Musical. What happened to my little girl who was crazy about Strawberry Shortcake and the Care Bears and Dragontales!!!???!!! Dont get me wrong she still watches some of that stuff I just feel like she's trying to grow up too fast on me and it totally FREAKS me out!! So for all you mother out there who are laughing at my neurosis help a Mama out here on how to keep my baby from growing up too fast especially in a world today that I feel pushes them to grow up too fast!

Is this not the cutest!!??!! I love it!LOL! I bought quite a few images from Rubbernecker a couple of weeks ago and finally got around to playing! I love this little bee. This card will go to my friend to give her a little laugh.
I used todays sketch challenge for the layout. My dp is American craft. I love their dp! I colored the bee with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. I also had to give her a little bling and added diamond stickles to her wings and popped her up on dimensionals. The image was a little bigger than I thought it was so I was trimming it down so I could make it work for todays sketch and I almost cut her stinger off!LOL! My ribbon is some I got from the $1 bin at Michaels forever ago!LOL!
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker bee and sentiment, linen
Ink: pallette noir, summer sun
paper: creamy caramel, summer sun, black, PTI white, American craft dp
Other: prismacolor pencils, diamond stickles, brown ribbon, dimensionals
Dimensions: card base 5 3/8"sq , american craft dp 4 3/4" sq, Bee image 2 3/4 x 3 1/8, sentiment layer 2 3/4" sq.
Have a great day!

I went over the white on the skunk and the center of the flower with diamond tulip puffy paint.

I was browsing through some blogs yesterday and saw Kirsten had another sketch challenge so I used it today for my layout. The sketch was perfect for the small images in the pun fun set. OH!!!! I also used my new spellbinders die!Yes I fianlly gave in to the Nestabilities temptation! I love them!!! So glad I got them!

Amazing technique

Wow has it really been 11 days since my last post! Last week is a blur to me! My hubby and I celebrated our 6th anniversary on Feb. 2. Feb. 3 brought heartache. A special friend of mine passed away Sunday and its been alot to deal with. I spent most of the last week with the family. They are like my 2nd family and losing Dale was hard on everyone. It would take 2 days to tell you about this past week but Dale was loved and will certainly be missed.
I told my hubby last night how long it had been since I stamped and I was determined to get the kids off to school today and have some good ole fashioned stamping therapy! Todays technique challenge is one I havent tried yet and to be honest its one I didnt want to try but Im glad I did. I actually really like the results of my ink, spray, & smash layer. Im bad about not doing challenges on something I think I wouldnt like to try but Im trying to change that! I got some new goodies 2 weeks ago and havent been able to ink them up so todays challenge was perfect! I used my new Amazing set and pretty petals background for my card. The colors I used were lavender lace, apricot appeal, and certainly celery. I used Beate wsc34 for my layout. Have a great day!
